  1. Playoff races , affiliates are playing good ball .... To bad larnach can't seem to get his game figured out , I can't see him coming up when rosters expand ... I hope larnach goes to driveline this winter and can get things figured out with the off speed stuff , it's become psychological to him by now and needs help , he could be traded this off season or if not , 2024 is probably his last chance in the Twins organization ..
  2. The ta do list ... Rest or no rest ... I say rest the veterans and let the younger players play and go on a winning streak ... When was the last time we had a winming streak of 10 games or more ???
  3. Alittle early to be even speculating , with the possibility of injuries and the work load of some tiring , the first trio should be Lopez, gray and maeda , if we get past that then the next series should be Lopez, gray , Ryan and not sure , but maeda should move to the bullpen for the second round if we make it that far ... There is still a 5 percent chance we don't even make the playoffs , Twins need to tweak some area of weaknesses that are quite obvious to us fans , but the plan of FO and Rocco might think differently ,,, Get hot and go on a winning streak would solve the problem for a runaway division , I don't want to back into the playoffs , I want to see them earn it ....
  4. It's not whether you win or lose , it's how you play the game ... Texas handed this win to us just like we handed Texas the Saturday night win , I thought Chapman was going to implode and give us the win in the ninth , he's still good but not lights out like he used to be ... The extra innings were nice but not to entertaining , base running blunders cost us a run that possibly could have won the game earlier than the 13th inning ... I was not impressed with the team in extra innings but we managed a win and won the series , when are we ever going to bunt in extra innings ??? Keuchel earned his wings and the game ball should go to Keuchel for keeping us in the game to tie it up in the bottom of the ninth ...
  5. I'm not saying yes , I'm not saying no but anything is possible with this FO when it comes to keeping Gallo or even signing Gallo .... What a crock , and we have to live with it ...
  6. WOW , THAT WAS THE LOUDEST BACK FIRE I'VE EVER HEARD , and I live 50 miles west of target field ... I do understand bringing Duran in the eighth to face the top of the lineup but it backfired for Rocco and Jax ... I'll reiterate what I said a week ago , if Jax can't get out of the inning with 15 or less pitches he doesnt have his stuff going for him that night , when will Rocco learn ... Scherzer was fun to watch , a serious bulldog pitcher ( don't mess with me look ) ... Ryan pitched well enough too and it was a good game , not entertaining but good ...
  7. I concur about removing the strike zone box , but I also would recommend a eye test , concussion tests , drug and last but not least a sobriety test ... It's not just balls and strikes , it's also the runners and balls in play ...
  8. A six man rotation would only give the pitcher an extra day of rest where a skipped turn would give them plenty of rest to rest the arm fatigue ... Pitchers like to stay on a routine so it's hard to determine what is the right direction ... extra day of rest or skipped turn , they would benefit both ways ... we have the depth to do this so every consideration should be taken to keep our starters fresh and healthy ....
  9. Is this a psychological thing with the Twins players .... They seem to lose against teams they should beat and they seem to win against teams that are better than they are ... Great double digit win tonight , the rookies are performing , Lewis , Julian and wallner are doing there part with the bats on offense ... Now get kiriloff healthy and we're good to go ...
  10. Twins win was a sweet comeback ... i didnt think we were going to hit any homers other than solos , wallner single and correas double helped the game along and then jeffers 2 run homerun was good timing , he's swinging the bat good and has remained healthy too ... Team effort and Taylor regardless of his batting average has done an admirable job .... Lewis was on fire , perfect 3 for 3 plus a walk ... Hurray for the bullpen , they did their job as well ... Let's get another win just like this one tonight , Texas is 0-7 in last 7 games .,.
  11. Man , look at the walk to strike outs ,,, Very impressive Stat, especially for a catcher that is suppose to give you defense and hitting is just a plus ... Thanks
  12. I disagree , everyone mikelink45 listed were good defensive catchers and mostly good hitters , Mauer won 3 batting titles as a catcher .... We're they better than Mauer as a catcher , who was better defensively at blocking , throwing out runners , the debate begins ...
  13. As there are plenty of players that have terrorized the Twins , Cabrera being one of them ... the one that really sticks out for me is Edgar Martinez , he always killed us ... Such a good hitter ... I know nothing of Gavin Williams to comment on ...
  14. Garver had a tremendous 2019 , as a lot of players had career years , it was an exciting year of Twins baseball and we finally beat the Yankees at something that year , we out homered the Yankees by 1 homerun , won over a hundred games and Mauer just retired after 2018 ... Mauer will eventually get in to the Cooperstown hall of fame , he was a very good hitting catcher ....
  15. I concur they were definitely gun shy at this years deadline and didn't want to make poor choices 2 years in a row ... The past off season proved again that they made a poor choice and didn't add any quality bullpen arms by way of free agency ...
  16. Interesting game for sure but it was all predictable when Rocco brought in pagan with a 6-3 lead , everyone but Rocco knows pagan is going to serve up a homerun , it was unpredictable that theilbar would give up a solo homerun to tie it ... It was also kind of predictable that Duran would not do well in his second inning of work , he hasn't faired all that good in 2 inning outings .... I don't think it's funny at all that our bullpen faltered 2 games in a row when our FO could have added some free agent bullpen arms this past off season , I get not adding at this year's deadline because of the talent we traded at last year's deadline they were gun shied away and didn't want to look bad 2 years in a row making poor choices on deadline trades ... The FO continues to make poor choices and this year's poor choice was not finding a couple of quality bullpen arm's in free agency last off season ...
  17. No the joke is on the FO for their evaluation of contructing this twam
  18. I dontv think this is funny that bullpen couldn't hold on to win either game ... They could have signed bullpen help last winter or even deadline but choose not to .... Will there excuse be that injuries hampered the season again and trainer gets fired again and they keep all the same coaches ,,, Again I don't think this is funny ...
  19. It seems that Duran has no luck when pitching , he pitches fairly well but his fielders seem to miss balls in play while he is pitching ...
  20. Duran needs to get 3 outs with very few pitches or he definitely won't be used in first 2 games ...
