  1. I agree. The planned rest days last year didn't work out so well did it? Put him in the field and let him play. If he gets hurt again, put him on IL until he can play again.
  2. IMO they must develop pitchers from within, especially with the plan Rocco uses for starters lengths. This year there are 2 starters (Mahle and Lopez) that have a history of going deeper into games. I'm interested to see if this will alter the plan any. As stands now, I can't see any top starters wanting to pitch for a team that won't let them go deeper.
  3. Maeda will start according to the FO
  4. IMHO the signing of Profar or even Guriel makes a lot of sense. Either one would look good when facing lefties, and they both can also hit righties. Time will tell, but I think last season was just an off year for Guriel, or perhaps he had some kind of nagging injury. Thats what physicals are for though right?

    Who's on 1st

I don't know how Julien is at 1st, but that might be a spot for him if AK doesn't bounce back from latest procedure. Gallo would also be an option. Against lefties I would slide Miranda over and let Farmer have 3rd.
  6. I'm all in on a short term deal for Profar. An upgrade over Garlic for sure!
  7. I have said for the last year now that Ober would be a great candidate for the pen. He seems to have a certain amount of deception in his delivery, probably because of his size, and being in the pen would cut down how much guys see him to adjust. And with his injury history it just seems like a good fit. But I'm guessing instead they will start with a 6 man rotation, further stretching the pen (due to short starts).
  8. That's what I've been thinking. Last year was pretty bad trying to score enough. This is a much better pitching staff than we started with last year (if they can stay healthy) but at least on paper I don't see it as a "shutdown" staff. Would sure like to be proven wrong though!
  9. I hate losing Arraez, but this looks like a fairly good return. Good Luck Luiz and welcome to Pablo!
  10. I would prefer the Twins to have a more traditional pen where relievers know their roles. I've seen interviews with other relievers that have said they prefer it that way.
  11. I'm not sure but I think Bane came up and pitched the same year he was drafted out of 1 of the AZ schools.
  12. i agree that he will be playing 3B against lefties, with Miranda moving to 1st.
  13. One BIG problem with the pen. Who is capable of going multiple innings? IMO they need 2-3 long guys the way they handle their starters!
  14. Seems like a lot of maybes. Only way I would do a trade for him would be a very low rated prospect.
  15. A trade of Arraez better mean a ready-to-start good pitcher.
  16. If I was owner, I'd make it known to the entire staff, from Falvey on down, this is a make or break season. Either win your way, change your way of thinking, or get fired!
  17. I hope the new trainer has a better plan for Buck. I'm not a DR. (and I don't play one on TV) but I would let Buck go until he's injured, and then put him on IL. They tried the resting every few days and we all saw how that has worked. IMHO just let him play!
  18. The dr. isn't always right. There outlooks are nothing more than an educated guess going by what the majority of people have had. IMHO using the patients history should be factored in more than it is.
  19. Wow, you really think the fans are to blame? They don't hit, pitch, or catch the ball. I've been a Twins fan since they moved here. I've lived and died with them through great and horrible seasons. Even the years where they were mediocre they were cheered for playing the game the right way. Recently, they have lacked in the fundamentals of the game. I for one can excuse a losing team so long as they are playing fundamentally good ball and putting in 100% effort. IMO that has to start with the manager and coaches. Signing Correa is a great start on this as he seems to know how the game should be played. Cruz made a big difference with team attitude. I hope Correa will too, because Rocco and his staff sure don't seem to know how.
  20. The biggest complaint I have about Rocco is the lack of stressing fundamentals. At times the last couple of seasons they looked like a high school team out there. There sometimes seems like the concept of "team" isn't as important as "personal stats".
  21. I agree about Gallo. Can't understand that deal at all.
  22. as I understand it you don't lose the challenge if you are correct.
  23. I don't see Kepler being bashed because of payroll, its because of performance, mainly hitting!
  24. Maybe not Kepler defense, but I agree he is better defensive OF than he gets credit for.
