  1. And Ryan better have some sort of off speed pitches or Houston is just going to sit on the fastball.
  2. decent rotation floor with Pablo Lopez, Joe Ryan, and Bailey Ober all team-controlled for at least the next four years. Don't forget about Paddock
  3. Just saw Lewis is at 3rd today! Great news as his hammy must be a lot better!
  4. I'll add in another. Get the bats of Wallner and AK to wake up. They have both have looked lost so far this post season and the Twins can't afford to have 2 dead spots in the lineup!
  5. Polo is a guy I really don't worry about. He has been one of the Twins most reliable hitters and run producers for quite a while. One of my favorite players!
  6. Lets hope AK and Wallner wake up from their post season slumber, and it will be a sonny day in Mn.
  7. So good to see the RH hitting lineup come thru! Now they need to get AK and Wallner going. And it looks like October Correa has arrived!
  8. At this point I don't have a problem pinch hitting for AK or Wallner as each has struggled in the playoffs. At least Julian is getting on base, but the other 2 look lost right now!
  9. Nice article! Great trade made by the FO. May have lengthened their leash. I do miss Arraez though. The pressure gets turned up a bit in Game 2, and the hitters are facing a really good lefty. They really need Lopez to step up and shut them down!
  10. I have followed the Twins since they first arrived here. The one common theme that has happened in the last 30 years or so has been a pitching staff that just wasn't as good as the other playoff teams. At this time, it looks like we actually have if not the best staff, one of the best. They should be able to hold their own against anyone. Now, they need to get the hitters going.
  11. Yes I think Jax has the talent to succeed. I wondered about his nerves this being the 1st time he pitched post season, but if the 1st 2 games are any indicator, he has nerves of steel!
  12. So what was zips odds in the 1st series? Just more fuel for the Twins! On any given day....
  13. I feel it will come down to if the Twins bats can come alive. I agree that 2.5 runs per game probably isn't going to be enough. That's an awful lot of pressure on the pitching staff to hold the Astros hitters to 2 runs per game
  14. pretty sure they will have Ryan pitch game 4. He has much better numbers at home, and with the weather cooling the ball shouldn't carry as well.
  15. I think it will all come down to the hitters. Can the Twins with their 3 rookies keep putting up runs? Time will tell!
  16. IMO they activate Ober in Stevensons place, Start Ober in game 1, let Ryan go game 4. Ryan has struggled on the road and pitched much better at home. According to the Pioneer Press they are planning on carrying an extra pitcher, which is why I think they drop Stevenson off the roster.
  17. So You're saying Houston is beatable? You know the old saying about any given day etc.... In 87 and 91 the Twins were underdogs through the playoffs. It seemed to motivate those guys. This Twins team has better starting pitchers IMO, Now the question becomes, what can the hitters do against a good Astros team? Will they raise their game a notch? They will need to if they want to advance. And if they do, they will probably need to raise it another notch or two before the next round!
  18. Yes he had a beast of a season. I hope they can find a way to keep him!
  19. I think passionate fans need a venting, or ranting site. Lets face it, things didn't look so good earlier in the season. True, the FO deserves kudos for what they have built so far. But they are human and thus prone to mistakes (Gallo). Now like most people do I hope they learned from those mistakes. This team very well could become a force to be reckoned with for the next few years, and maybe longer, thanks to the FO getting it right more often than not.
  20. It will be interesting to see how free agency goes for Sonny. He's a class act and deserves to get paid! Will the Twins pony up what it takes to keep him? I hope so, but at least we should have Paddock to slide in if not. On paper, it looks like another strong rotation next year.
  21. I can understand subbing in Solano for AK as Ak hasn't looked good so far.
  22. I haven't been a big fan of Rocco so far, but I will admit he's done a pretty good job, especially in the 2nd half this year. Now how much credit goes to Rocco, and how much to the FO for putting together this roster? I don't know. Most people improve by doing their job for a while, and perhaps that is what is going on with Rocco. Of course, I'm sure the job is a lot easier when you have the players perform at the level you expect. I really liked the comment Rocco made after the game. Showed me some fire. Winning makes things look so much better, so I'll just keep hoping for more wins. Houston, here they come!
