  1. We got cash, a bench OF RH bat with a career WAR 12.2 thats only 29 yo. AND a SS prospect for who? Miller. Who is playing this year in AA ball and has to find his bat to make it to the show. We can’t possibly lose this trade.
  2. Great trade! Got a guy and it isn’t another gallo. Got a prospect and cash….. all for a prospect with upside but not one of our highest potential prospects. The ‘24 team got better today.
  3. The Dbacks owner is just planting seeds. That stadium is nice and they wont get a new one for a decade. The Yotes are next in line for a new rink in AZ. if we are comparing apples to apples. No Dbacks player is getting C4 type $$$ yet so thats the biggest payroll difference. If you remove the $14M dead money going to bumgarner then the Dbacks payroll is comparable to the twins right to the dime.
  4. Shōta signing would have been do able but the rest can play out just as it has. We will see some growing pains this year but I really like the health and young age of the team. They will be exciting for years as they grow together. The ‘24 roster has a nice mix of vets and young guns. No Gallos standing in the way of the next rookie up.
  5. The Pohlads spent all their $$$ on NVDA and aren't ready to cash out yet.
  6. Its fun watching all these young guys on the cusp of MLB. Several young pitchers maybe too good to be sent down by the end of the season. Much like the ‘23 rookie crop of position players, the ‘24 rookies could be lead by pitchers. and then Lee and Martin doing their thing in the field. Oh the possibilities!!!
  7. The 40 man roster is very flexible. Anyone of them could be traded or injured and there is double to triple redundancy. Be patient, someone will be gone/acquired by the trade deadline.
  8. The hand wringing of not getting a gray replacement has gotten really old. Its a different season. Just as likely to have a major step forward as backwards.
  9. A lot has changed since that 50-52% promise but what hasn't changed is that the Pohlads have a PR problem because they have no one that can correctly communicate that we have to pay more before they invest more🤣 This is a structural issue with ownership. The Astros had a losing team because of a bad ownership situation. The team sold and they transformed into a generational winner. The Twins are a product of the ownership culture. Ownership simply doesn’t want to invest their generational pocket change into being a perennial champion. At least we have gotten lucky in a few recent draft picks that are building blocks to a championship team but leave it up to the Pohlads and they will likely screw it up somehow. There is a distinct line between just competitive and juggernaut. The Twins have spent decades trying to tiptoe over that line instead of simply taking a step and not looking back. The revenue from that success would have caught up to the investment.
  10. So there is nothing to say that we have yet to see the best of C4. He is healthy and dead center n his prime. He could be the guy that sets ‘24 with a winning tone and Royce and the boys will feed off of it. Put the Gidp in the rear view mirror and watch the RBI’s! Put Buck into the waay less K’s category and this lineup is stacked.
  11. When you say recently drafted players are exempt from expansion, is that the last two draft classes? We should keep this going because if expansion doesn’t happen for 4-6 years, Everything changes!! Great starting baseline list for now.
  12. It seems like our utility guys play everyday because someone always is on a rest day.
  13. 2nd and 3rd time around the batting order, we will have an extra guy on base to score more runs. Martin will be a huge offensive asset.
  14. At this point, I would like to see Martin be the 26th guy ahead of Lee and Larnach. The kid is gonna be rock solid and on base all the time! Very excited for Martin in ‘24.
  15. Even batting him 9th sets the team up for some big 3rd/4th innings.
  16. Castro is the #2 guy in CF so my guess is they want him to get the backup reps.
  17. Lewis at 1B would make him a lock to be a 10 time allstar and gold glove.
  18. That internal brace must be important to holding the arm together. If his arm is bouncing back every 5-6 days, he should put up some amazing stats. It would not surprise me to see some sort of piggy back starts in Aug/sept where paddack and an SWR/headrick team up for 7 inning stints.
  19. Well if our high to moderate prices vets have a solid season, we can afford to play some rookies to see who will stick in MLB.
  20. @jorgenswest Some guys just have it. Coaches kids that are athletic and love the game kinda have an unfair advantage. I remember that ‘91 spring well! What a great team!!
  21. @LA VIkes Fan I agree with most of what you said. I do believe that our prospect depth is deeper than most think. I do hope that we don’t need to do the break glass emergency call ups because of multiple bad injuries. That will derail any team no matter how deep they are. I base my positivity on starters being healthy all season with minor DL stints. No UCL tears, no torn knee ligaments. Its a given that we will have a couple shoulder impingements, oblique strains and such but somehow. If we are going deep into the playoffs, we need everyone healthy in October !!
  22. The team is not weaker than ‘23 in any respect. We literally have the 8th best odds at winning the WS this year. That wasnt even a discussion a year ago. 4 key players are 100% healthy which wasnt the case a year ago. Our starting pitching has question marks but we are deeper than a year ago with more upside. The Twins weren't good until the rookies stepped up last year. Gray got rocked in October. Mahle and Gallo were bumbs even before they got injured. Polanco was a productive part time guy but he is replaced by Julien and Santana so thats a plus for ‘24. I would already rank ‘24 as a better starting team than 23’ending team.
  23. Lee is likely to be a new franchise cornerstone much like Polanco was a decade ago. As a fan, I would love to see him break camp with the Twins and be the ROY winner in ‘24. That’s just not probable. Will he be a Twin in ‘24, absolutely! He is going to be here a long time. Get used to cheering for him cause he is going to do awesome things for a long time.
