  1. Isn’t that how it works tho? Dominate AAA then go to the show? How long do you have to stay in the minors when you are ready?
  2. He sure looks ready!!
  3. Im all about not everyone being a pull happy slugger but I also don't like seeing a shifted defense that leaves half the field uncovered. That wasn’t good for the game imo.
  4. That sounds like he will be just fine to take his start in the 5th game on April 3rd after 2 more ST starts. You can never have enough pitching.
  5. Nothing better than a 2 headed monster at the C. Much like a goalie in hockey, if you are going 3 or 4 deep because of injuries or poor performance, you will miss out on a winning season. Jeffers/Vasquez could and should be the best tandem in MLB in ‘24. If we get to late August and Camargo is still watching mpls skyline sunsets from the east side of the river, look for a cameo appearance just to show the kid what the big show tastes like. Vasquez could be a hot commodity coming of his 3rd WS appearance/championship next offseason.
  6. This is the best idea MLB has had since banning the shift and instituting the pitch clock. We have some exciting prospects. Baseball is back!!
  7. He is at the end of a 6 yr 41M contract and just turned 31yo. Its not in the clubs MO to pay for more than 1 yr on a veteran contract. I think even the QO for $22M+ for ‘25 is top of the money pile. It would give us 1 more year to get Erod and WJ to the show tho if he accepted it. Otherwise we part ways and likely get a comp pick at about 32ish if he signs for over 50M. Either way, I can see it as a good business decision.
  8. Lets just suppose Kepler has his best year. Not quite as good as 2nd half in ‘23 but still, a great year. Enough to say he is worth $20M to any team needing a veteran RF. Does the team give him a QO? Does he turn it down since he could easily get 50-75M in FA on a 3-5 option yrs contract.
  9. We got 2 weeks to see if his shoulder barks at him. IF it does, he would be headed for the 60day probably after starting on the 10 day. They will slow walk his il stint if indeed he needs one. Who knows the future but I would guess that he will be available to start on 4/3 and Varland will be available if he has to miss that start. Very doubtful the twins skip the 5th starter based on slow schedule. The top 3 guys have plenty of season to get to 30 starts.
  10. 8 years ago, I expected that he would have a few seasons like the second half of ‘23. A year ago, I would have traded him for a bag of balls. Kep will likely be gone and we will miss him next year but wouldn’t it be nice to see him be allstar top 5 RF Max in his last season here? He would be n line for a huge payday if he can pull that off.
  11. He isn’t ready but he will be. That wont matter because Buck will be in CF all year.
  12. Walker Jenkins could step in with 3 WAR as early as June 1st.-Oct1st.
  13. He was there and optioned over to minor league camp
  14. The is possibly the deepest position in the whole organization. From the #1 most electric/injury riddled star to the #1 prospect and future game changer (& all the other capable talent in between). Trot anyone you want out there, we will be above league average. Buck is holding it down for now and will likely get 140games there if he doesn’t get hurt.
  15. If Buck is relegated to mostly DH. He really should be relegated to 60 day DL.
  16. I doubt a trade will take place anytime soon for a front line SP but it sure seems like we have plenty of assets to trade for one. I really like the probable 26 man and the depth in AAA.
  17. Its not like he is only a fast ball pitcher. His other stuff works but isn’t elite. One little tweak and he could get there so not much to worry about. He will get there.
  18. Is there any reason to not rest the guys an extra day or two in April? How about Desclafanti on il and Varland in the rotation from the get go. Or slot Varland in for the last game vs. Cleveland and give Paddack an extra day rest and give him the Dodgers game 1?
  19. Looking at the small sample of ST and winter ball, it seems that Alcala is finally healthy again and pounding the strike zone. If that remains all season, expect a break out year and another successful pitcher to develop in our system. Finally.
  20. Not worried one bit. He is 26 yo and still refining his craft. 8-10 more years of prime time crushing at the plate and OF assists. Fans need to get used to having nice things in MN.
  21. He is that good. and he could end up being great when he gets to RF next year. Its really awesome to see the youth movement!
  22. Team control until ‘28 so if he just has a soso season, his trade value will be weak and the FO will spend another yr or 2 trying to fix him.
  23. Sooooo… at 26yo its now or never yet we sign guys all over their mid to late 30’s to fill out the 40 man. AK is finally healthy and still has a sweet swing. Allowing great health in ‘24, what is stopping him from having a huge breakout season in his early prime year. He could simply mash all summer long leading to a .290ba, .350obp, .900 OPS and end the season with 550ab and a 135ops+ …. Not bad for a guy batting in the 5/6 spot. When he mashes, he makes our lineup really deep.
  24. Great write up!! If Ober is durable and brings his game to a higher level in ‘24, no one will want to play us in October.
