    If they listen to fan’s opinions on running the team, they’re fools. I don’t think they are fools. Having said that, Lewis likely will follow a trajectory similar to Kiriloff. He’s optioned when he comes off the 60 day, and is called up shortly thereafter.

    In 87 there were basically two trusted relievers: Reardon and Berenguer. In 91 there were basically two trusted relievers: Aguilera and Willis. Pretty much the rest were cobbled together. It happens; sometimes it works. Of course, most times it doesn’t. And teams didn’t lean on the bullpen as heavily as they do now. I’d still estimate 3-4 is the best one can expect.

    The way the carousel has spun with the bullpen, the odds seem pretty good he’ll debut in the long-medium reliever role at some point.

    I’d be fine simply rotating them every game. Some of the starting pitches may have a preference and that can be honored, when feasible.
