    In 87 there were basically two trusted relievers: Reardon and Berenguer. In 91 there were basically two trusted relievers: Aguilera and Willis. Pretty much the rest were cobbled together. It happens; sometimes it works. Of course, most times it doesn’t. And teams didn’t lean on the bullpen as heavily as they do now. I’d still estimate 3-4 is the best one can expect.
