  1. Somehow I doubt he’d interpret support as approving of a low batting average.
  2. I remember the Herschel Walker trade. This isn’t even in the same league as that.
  3. If both can be managed without shortchanging other areas, it’s all good.
  4. The guy I’d really like to have is just leaving town, still a player. Nelson Cruz.
  5. Farmer is definitely a gamer. He’s signed for next year, too, isn’t he?
  6. Since there’s already a gamble being made on Paddack, I’d rather the dough be spent on a QO for Gray.
  7. Already rolling the dice with Paddack. All things considered, I’d prefer the QO to Gray.
  8. Basically it means Ober, and probably Varland, have an opportunity to seize.
  9. I just feel badly for the kid (and the team) and hope he bounces back, here or elsewhere. Seemed to be talented when healthy.
  10. Probably out of my price range.
  11. Exactly! That’s the charm.
  12. Milwaukee - haunted. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/37595483/mookie-betts-dodgers-milwaukee-hotel-ghosts
  13. TK was pretty young when he became manager. That worked, at least for a while.
  14. Maybe; who with? They’d have to win everybody’s trust pretty quickly. Cuddyer?
  15. Sure, although refuting the specific argument was never the point. I have no idea what will ultimately work best. I’m interested in how far people are willing to go, since technology has this habit of growing out of its original, intended, purpose. You seem to be the only person willing to have a discussion, and not simply get defensive, so I talk to you.
  16. No, although he’s got a lot of company. Now with Kiriloff the primary first baseman I expect to see Solano more in the play against lefties role he was basically supposed to fill. He likely won’t be around past the All Star break, as the kids get called up.
  17. About half the active roster of the TD faithful is suspect too, so there is that symmetry.
  18. I’d probably want the 15 most entertaining to do it. That is, in the end, the point of professional sports. Think Leslie Nielsen in Naked Gun.
  19. More like the slippery slope fallacy, I think. Still, what I’m interested in is where people draw their line(s) and why. I do worry about the human element in the game (and a lot of other endeavors, too) fading in the quest to maximize efficiency at the expense of humanity.
  20. And when a pitching machine is made that has both command and control superior to human pitchers? And never needs Tommy John surgery? That shouldn't be so hard to do, it's just ballistics.
  21. You have me curious. Will the electronic umps also handle checked swings, foul tips, hbp, clock violations, and runners at the plate? If so, how, and if not, why not?
  22. Especially at St. Paul, if Miranda is there. It’ll be a tight squeeze pouring them into the same uniform. :)
  23. Works for me. Most likely playing 3rd base, I expect.
