  1. The problem w/ the Twins is that they guage themselves to the team they are playing. Therefore winning series from good teams when they get the mo jo going & play flat against poor teams. They have some clutch hitters but you can't expect them to always do it on their own. Baldelli needs to shakes things up including himself
  2. How's it going Nash with your new job? Good to have you back here.
  3. 3B is basically Lewis's right now, but with Lewis's range he wont stay at 3B. He should be better utilized at SS or 2B. When Lee comes up, his best position is 3B, at that time it's his. And when Correa can no longer play SS? Then he'll move over at 3B. So I see Lewis's time at 3B is temporary. I believe Lewis could play SS right now in Correa's absense but I think they want to settle Lewis at 3B for this year. Miranda time at 3B is done, if Miranda & Julien tear up AAA & come up to MLB, their time should be limited to 1B/DH.
  4. It was obviuos that Martin wouldn't stick at SS, yet the Twins were determined to keep him there although Martin had a better avenue to the majors via OF & some 2B. They need keep Lewis in the INF so they should have gave him some time at 2B. Julien won't stick at 2B yet they keep him there, Kiriloff can play some OF so Julien best shot is 1B, so that's where they should play him.
  5. Bingo! Martin should be our #1 option of backing up Buxton. They wasted all last season playing him at SS & tinkering with his swing. He could be our best lead off hitter at least against LHPs. Of course the best solution is having Buxton there now. Until last year Cave was our choice & everybody thought he was great. Taylor, Gordon, Celestino, Martin are a far cry better choice than Cave. So we are in a far better situation than years past. I'd say Lewis would be our best solution at CF before his ACL issues, now he shouldn't be even considered as an option. And he shouldn't even need to be with our other inhouse options.
  6. Wallner has the tools to be super star. Yet the Twins seems to be satisfied only to try squeeze HRs out of him. He has the speed & arm to become a pretty good OF. They just need to develope that feel for that position, how to steal & take extra bases & hit for average & get on base with those aspects he seems pretty raw.. If they had focused on that there's no way they could keep him down. Good to have player rehabbing & progressing. Too bad Richardo Olivar sprained his hamstring, while he's quietly getting acqainted with FSL although as you said he won the FSL player of the week.
  7. Twins tends to lean toward college bats. I'd take Skenes if anything trade bait if they think he won't materialize. My 1st pick surely wouldn't be SS Gonzalas.
  8. IMO Nash hit the nail on the head, Castro is a gamer. He gets hit, steal & take a base when we need them. I'd rather have a player like that, than someone who piles up HRs when we don't need them & SO when we do. His versatility is a great benefit.
  9. i was thinking the same thing. the Twins need a spark plug. Lewis could be it. I was also dreaming of the Twins pinstripes of old. The focus has been on rebrand, IMO it should be on winning tradition of old & build off that. A lot of attention is focused on HR production & not clutch hitting. We've lost too many close games , while winning blow outs. A contendng team needs to win the close games.
  10. Bring up Lewis & ease him at 3B, when he's absolutely 100% & start lighting things up then let him take over. Lewis is a ROY candidate let's give him a chance to win it this year. But above all Lewis's health is priority, so keep him in the INF.
  11. ThanK you you both so very much! for the work you put in this, I really enjoyed it. Cole Carrigg is my personal favorite, Just because of the team's need in the OF, he was switched off catching. The pundits have docked him believing he has no position but he can literately play anywhere & excel. Because of the lack of quality college catchers available and our need, he could be a steal at #75
  12. Contreras has been doing well in AAA. For a short term basis, They should bring him up especially facing RHPs. And rotate Buxton & Taylor in CF to face LHPs shouldn't be to strenous on either of them. They said that they'd evaluate Buxton to play CF in May now it's almost June.
  13. We have a pretty unseasoned BP, Not too many seasons under their belt, especially since Theilbar is out. An accomplished veteran would be nice so someone like Jax could be lowered in the pecking order until he gets his stuff together. Pagan needs to stay on the bottom.
  14. Always liked Plouffe as a player & a personality, a true Twin. He was so stiff & straight lace in his 1st presentation but sure that'll change.
  15. That's what made them a better hitting team.
  16. Thank you Roger for stating this. I've been lambasted for suggesting Lewis not to play especially in the OF. Lewis will play anywhere you put him. I'm glad he has an agent who is smart enough to advise the Twins on where they should play him because the Twins will play him anywhere they feel like. I'd like to see that agent statement. I like to see Brook Lee at 3B because quickness & sure glove long term & Lewis at 2B because of his range. If Correa gets moved off SS he'd move to 3B because of his arm.
  17. They need to keep Gordon in the OF where he's naturally better instead of systematically trying to jam in the INF where doesn't fit. Last year was a good year to give Helman a shot at 2B. Lewis is a spark plug that can get any team fired up.
  18. Thanks Mat, always knew Pablo had a lot of up side as you explained. As soon it starts to warm up so will Lopez, then he'll gets all his pitches going.
  19. I agree with MLR that Contreras is MLR, does he need a little bit more seasoning in the Bigs? Could he back Buxton up next year? Severino continues to impress me, Early this season Cossetti has been on my radar, IMO he needs a lot more work on his defense but his hitting is great. Speaking about backing up Buxton, where is Celestino at?
  20. After the ordeal in NYY stadium, MN went into a slight funk. Fortunately the return of Polanco has gotten us out of it. The return of Polanco has kept Gordon in the OF where he belongs & now he's showing some life. We got the momentum on our side but CWS & especially CLE will try to disrupt that so we need to play them tough, Duran looked human but with warmer weather the team will look better. I'm looking forward to Kiriloff & Lewis coming back even though it'll cause some issues. Ober & Varland will be fine. If Larnach continues to have difficulty to adjust to off speed he might also be sent down in favor of Kiriloff. We had a good April but May, June & July will be better.
  21. Gray & Buxton were great! I've always said that Gordon plays best in the OF, Keep him there.
  22. Just because Gallo is pretty good cOF & has played CF doesn't mean he's a good CF or should play there. But give him a try against RHPs so Kiriloff can come back isn't a bad idea.
