  1. I agree on Martin. People giving up on him after one poor season is irrational. Especially since he redeemed himself very well in the Fall. As for Lewis, why can't he sustain his 2022 ML numbers? I'd be disappointed if he doesn't do close to those myself. I would agree with the OP that his injury history is "troubling."
  2. I would guess once Lewis gets back up to speed Polanco will be moved. Hopefully Jorge has a monster year and brings a huge haul. As for Martin. Many are now writing him off because of his 2022 showing. Kind of reminds me of how people felt about Gordon after his 2018 stint in AAA. Now they think Gordon's pretty good and has a bright future.
  3. But yet the state of MN voted in Keith Ellison after he beat on his Ex? As for Bauer? No. He hasn't been good enough in his career to warrant the distractions that he could/can bring. He also hasn't pitched in a season and a half. No. Lets get someone better even though the price is almost free.
  4. I agree on Cruz. Everything to gain and nothing to lose except whatever millions it would take to sign him for the year. If he is done done you just cut him loose.
  5. We've already signed Gallo. I don't know what more anybody could want.
  6. We've head that old argument for forever. Since Target opened 13 calendar years ago we've resigned Mauer, Dobnak, Polanco, Kepler, Sano and Buxton to long term contracts. Who am I missing? So few are signed, so few are worth resigning. It's a silly argument and well overused.
  7. I hope they don't mess the guy up by forcing him to develop "power". Not every player has to be a HR hitter. He's done well at legging out doubles in his career. I long for the days when a guy who could play the game of baseball was appreciated.
  8. Ortega is a meh, move. Lots of walks. Enlow is gone. He won't clear waivers.
  9. Andrew Chafin Will Smith In that order of preference.
  10. I'm not a Christmas doer, but Merry Christmas Twins fans.
  11. That's why we can't do 60. I'm thinking more like 50/520. This way he'd only be 79 when he hangs her up. Besides, an 89 y/o wouldn't have any trade value at all would he?
  12. I've always wanted to have a player nicknamed cool breeze on the Twins. Now I have it.
  13. I have already purchased my Gallo 13 Twins jersey. I'm looking forward to seeing him in a Twins uni for the next 9 years of his career. Hot summer day games at Target will be much cooler from now on as we feel the magnificent breezes Joey makes as he swings through opposing pitches.
  14. With all of the hype I'm hearing on here about Gallo one would think we'd look to extend him. Something like 6/96 maybe? Or if we have to 6/108. But to get the AAV down a bit possibly 9/135.
  15. I don't want Bauer. But I've done rottin **** myself. Not hit women but done lots and lots that needed forgiveness. I'm glad I received it fromChrist. I hope Bauer finds peace too.
  16. Bingo. Ryan is the guy we should be building the staff around.
  17. But, but, but, we need to maintain payroll flexibility....
  18. How long does the present ownership get to continue with this mode of operation? Cuz that is their never ending theory.
  19. When Turner signed for 11/300 there was no choice but to up the offer, even if they would have been "bidding against themselves". Either be prepared to go higher than 10/285 or they should have never been playing in the deep end of the pool from the beginning. FWIW I'm not upset about not getting Correa, but the fact is they have played this off season very very poorly. Couldn't do much worse.
  20. 9/300 This would have shown they were serious bidders/players in the game. We also would not have been paying him for 13 years, which is the complaint of many. He would have been 36 in the final season. I get the AAV would have been higher, but you can't have everything. Whatever. No elite players are coming to MN.
  21. What good does the Luxury Tax do? The big markets obviously don't care if they pay it. The small market owners pocket millions that they don't spend on their teams and love the tax. Broken system.
