    I'm not in the corner that says Johan should for sure be in the HOF. But yes he should have been on the ballot of the next 8-10 years. But then again Harold Baines is in the HOF because he was good and played a long time. I've pretty much lost all interest in the HOF as its been watered down to it being the Hall of good.

    I honestly think the 2020 season is done. Right now the President is rumored to be mulling a 2 week mandatory self quarantine.

    Last night on yutube I watched the Twins and Seattle from a game in 1978. Gary Serum, who I honestly don't remember pitched a very good game for the Twins at the old Met.

    Made mistakes? He cheated along with many other Astros and in so doing took the integrity of the game down the crapper. They knew what they were doing. I for one will be happy to see him move along after this season if not sooner.

    Its an ST game so no point in putting too much stock in performance. Graterol is going to be a stud and LAD knows it. I never wanted this trade.

    To be honest I'd love to see the Twins trade Marwin, back to Houston. AS you state he's not needed. And really not so sure hes wanted.

    Also Denard had 3 years remaining on a longterm contract he had signed. His deal was a very team friendly one too.

    Lets not forget on this date in baseball history, February 17 2018 the Twins traded for Jake Odorizzi and his 6.3mil salary for 2018. I don't expect a repeat this ST again, unless an injury were to occur.

    This. Strip them of the title. Take away their WS rings. Fine each player a set % of each cheating seasons salary. Suspend every active member of the cheating players, imo somewhere between 20 and 40 games. Including players who are now on other teams. The Astro org has been fined 5mil, make that 50mil. I have zero sympathy for Jim Crane. This isn't too harsh. I've heard people also say we need to forgive and move on because we've all done something wrong in our own lives. I'm all for forgiving. I hold no personal grudge against any of the cheaters. But the integrity of the game is at stake. I want to support ML baseball. ie attend a game or two this season. But I'm not so sure I will based on how Manfred has handled this scandal.

    Actually with the way Manfred screwed up the Astros cheating scandal he should in no way be entrusted with this. Fire him is a better idea.

    I propose expanding the league to 32 teams. This format would allow every team to be included in the PO's and also not give the best teams the advantage of a bye. A bye of course is unfair. After all we are living in a world where we don't want anyone to feel left out or feel at a disadvantage.

    A fine and the forfeiture of these rings was in order for the players who got caught cheating. Manfred blew this one all the way around.

    The owner. He is the one that benefited the most. The 5mil fine is nothing. The draft picks his team lost are more than covered by the "fine". But I guess the other owners are OK with Crane's theft as they are the ones letting him get away with it. You don't own a business of this magnitude and not know whats going on. This all leaves as bad of a taste for me as the 1994 play stoppage.

    This. Graterol is a stud. You don't trade game changers of his caliber. Brusdar was great in 2019 and will be great in 2020. Twins picked up the lesser player now and in the future.

    In reading up on this a bit it would appear as if we are giving up more. Which would mean that in this muddle the big boys did indeed get Falvine to cave in to the pressure. They should have moved on. Maeda is not that good. Not Graterol good and not Graterol plus more good. If you're going to play with the sharks Falvey you better learn to swim.

    Indeed should be. As doctorgast stated above, Maeda isn't worth Graterol straight up.

    Red Sox fans can't actually believe that David Price has positive value do they???? So Verdugo and Graterol are a very good return for one season of Mookie Betts who will not at this time resign with Boston. The wrong part of this whole deal is the RedSox treatment and tarnishing of a player, Graterol, who is not even their's yet. Douche organization.

    The latest is that Boston is trying to reconfigure the deal with the Twins, "meaning more than Graterol". Even though I'm in the camp of the price of Graterol for Maeda is too steep for the Twins I can live with the deal. But if the deal is more than Graterol we should move on very quickly. Screw Boston. They won't be competing in 2020 and will lose Betts after 2020 and will still owe an aging Price another 64mil after 2020. Let them lie in the mess they've made. Graterol easily becomes their #1 prospect. Move on Falvine.

    BoSox are a douche org. Trying to play this into more now. Most Graterol had pitched is 102 IP, now they want to question whether he is good for 150-170? Let them keep, and lose, Betts and pay the luxury tax this season on Price. Falvine, do not give up even more for Maeda than you already are

    I saw him as a guy that could either open for 2 innings or relieve a guy like Odo for 2. He also ought to be able to pitch 1 inning in between. That gives his team 90-95 IP of high 90's heat. He showed end of last season that he was ML ready. Maeda is not a better win now player. Again I have no problem with acquiring Maeda. It's the cost.

    The Dodgers from what I can tell made a great deal for their 2020 season. Betts for Verdugo. Price replaces Maeda who was sent to the pen regularly. Only figure I've seen is the BoSox will pay a substantial amount of Prices salary.

    But Maeda's best WAR was 2.9. In his 4 seasons he's only totaled 5.2. Again I'm not anti Maeda. Its just that giving up an asset like Graterol seems like too much to pay for him. In response to an earlier post, I don't think its fair to compare Graterol to the failings of Gonsalves, Stewart, etc. Each player succeeds and fails on their own merits not on someone else's. Graterol's biggest obstacle will be to stay healthy. I was really looking forward to him opening in 2020, or piggybacking for 2 innings off of Odorizzi maybe. GL in Boston Brusdar.
