  1. 16 PA, very very small sample size. Twins have found no takers for Larnach for 2 off seasons and all of last season and the beginning of this one. I'm not of the mindset that there will be a very long line of teams for his services in July. I'm not against Trevor, he's actually one of this teams better hitters, but the reality of who he is as a player and his value is quite evident at this point.
  2. First thing to do is waive Outman and recall Roden. I'm not saying it is going to turn this team around but it's the right thing and smart thing to do. Simple and easy place to start.
  3. Wallner has struggled in high leverage situations. That's an issue. But he also appears to be one of this teams best hitters. Probably better keep him. And let him play every day against both L/R. But he should be DHing. Oh my bad, this team signed Josh Bell to man 1B and he shouldn't be so Bell gets the most time at DH. What a mess.
  4. Yes, Now Zoll however might agree with my first statement. This has become such a horribly run franchise.
  5. Personally I go with both Matthews and Abel and Bradley is in the Pen. Time to see what Abel has and why we traded Duran.
  6. There are 5 teams in the division, one of them will be last. Right now this one doesn't have the look of the upper echelon.
  7. I wanted to see the Twins work out a Sproat or Tong for Ryan deal, the other piece could have been further negotiated.
  8. Essentially the scenario that the Twins are playing is to not buy the lottery ticket at all because you don't want to buy the $5 ticket. This is crumpling that $5 loosely into your pocket and having it fall out and losing it when you pull your car keys out of your pocket. This is part of why car manufacturers started producing key fobs instead..... The Twins are choosing to crumple up the $5 by sitting on Ryan for what has every look of a last place team in a bad division.
  9. Wallner has a bat that is playable on this team. Negative is against LHP making him part-time to a degree. Defense though is a bigger issue, makes him a DH unless he can work on that D. Maybe he crashes and burns from here on out but if he plays to his potential bats like his are not a dime a dozen.
  10. The only reason that I would sign either Giolito or Littel or both, is not to contend but to trade in July and further deepen the minors.
  11. Trade Ryan to one of these pitching needy teams that are still hoping to compete if they have anything to give up. Opens up another spot to find out what we have. What are we saving Ryan for?
  12. Richardson is a 4.2 IP tax on the bullpen. Festa, Matthews and Abel have been or are not even mediocre SP, and many think they are destined for the Pen. Bradley is a upto this point been a consistent blowup. Better hope this is nothing from Lopez cuz this could go beyond ugly very quickly.
  13. Sure does seem like more and more pitching injuries every year. I wonder if it has anything to do with the love affair with trying to throw at 98mph plus and to do so to get 12 plus K's per nine? Pitchers didn't drop left and right back in the 60's-90's. Not like nowadays.
  14. Personally I would sign both Giolito and Littel and then turn around and trade both Lopez and Ryan as soon as I could. This would keep the starting pitching as a positive on the whole. And be upfront with the new guys, that hey, if we're out of it in July they can expect to be traded too. We're competing, but it's for 3rd place at best. If many things go well and fall into place. The moves we make this year will significantly impact our level of competing for years to come. For good or bad.
  15. Tough Talking Tom = T-3 I think it suits him until he proves otherwise.
  16. Trevor is free to think and say what he wants. Others such as myself are as well, this team is a dysfunctional mess.
  17. Andrew Chafin is also coming on board on an milb. Another LHRP. Throw enough darts maybe one or two will stick.
  18. I'm not against Banda, I think it's a good enough dart thrown at the board and hope it sticks. I'm also not against the price paid, albeit I would have rather we threw another mil at an IFA early on in the signing period. But I don't think Banda should just be handed a spot in the BP either. He's not an elite RP by any means. And if we have an extra 10mil now to spend on the BP then why haven't we done it? And if I had to make a choice between Banda and singing Coulombe to an ML contract that is an easy decision.
  19. Parades and a prospect for Jeffers and Larnach is the best idea put forth yet. It actually improves the 2026 team. Astros lose 2 years of control on Parades but get two years of Larnach and a needed C who they would have the rights to negotiate an extension with. And if we are in the tank in July Parades would be a decent trade chip still. We would be weaker at C as I'm not convinced that Caratini can carry the primary load and in all honesty Jackson is not very good. This is a deal I can support.
