  1. I'm not against Banda, I think it's a good enough dart thrown at the board and hope it sticks. I'm also not against the price paid, albeit I would have rather we threw another mil at an IFA early on in the signing period. But I don't think Banda should just be handed a spot in the BP either. He's not an elite RP by any means. And if we have an extra 10mil now to spend on the BP then why haven't we done it? And if I had to make a choice between Banda and singing Coulombe to an ML contract that is an easy decision.
  2. Parades and a prospect for Jeffers and Larnach is the best idea put forth yet. It actually improves the 2026 team. Astros lose 2 years of control on Parades but get two years of Larnach and a needed C who they would have the rights to negotiate an extension with. And if we are in the tank in July Parades would be a decent trade chip still. We would be weaker at C as I'm not convinced that Caratini can carry the primary load and in all honesty Jackson is not very good. This is a deal I can support.
  3. 500k of IFA pool money is the cost. I'm neither here nor there on that cost, but I will say I wish the Twins would do a better job with Internationals. And if I had my druthers would have rather seen another significant future prospect picked up when signings were happening than have Banda. Just my opinion.
  4. Whether his success can translate to MN is the question. Yeah probably the best move they've made this off season.
  5. Nothing wrong with seeing what Hendriks has. I have doubts that much is left but its just an milb sign.
  6. Yes. I would much rather see 65-70 wins for 2-3 seasons if you're making legitimate strides than seeing 75-80 wins over that same time frame when all you're doing is treading water. We have some pieces in place. But we have some pieces that should be moved to improve the teams future. And we have some pieces that it's just time to move on from. But 75-80 wins isn't exciting very many when the direction seems off.
  7. At this point an F. Maybe they'll salvage something from some solid ST moves but the off season was a failure. It started with not firing your top guy November 01 and letting the new guy hire your manager and the new guy making all of the off season trades and signings. Dysfunction.
  8. To me Bradley is the easiest choice of all of the options. He's failed time and time again as an SP. Make the move to the pen and don't look back and if he can't do relief then move on. Festa is the other easiest choice but I could at least get the rational of giving him one more chance at starting though I'd make the transition.
  9. C'mon are you being serious? Reinforcement? Gio is going to be the closer along with infield. 8 innings playing between 3b,SS, 2b and 1B. Then he'll take the mound for the 9th.
  10. It's an milb signing with an ST invite so I don't really care. I don't think there is a bad milb signing. But if he makes the team out of ST we have a huge problem. He's a poor 3B at this point and not much of an option at 2B with little experience at 1B. SS he should never play there. He isn't a player that a contender could use. But mostly we seem to have been picking up players that don't do much for us if anything at all.
  11. Yep, and you will still have a fair amount of games that the SP just isn't on that day. Winning and bad D isn't the norm. Then you still need to hit the ball.....
  12. This. If Houston has any chance of developing beyond a glove only SS we don't need to risk that development on a team that by all measures doesn't look good. Houston is a guy that we are looking at for 2028 if he doesn't burn out before then. But hitting .145 at the ML level isn't going to help him or even the 2026 Twins.
  13. Right now I don't rush Culpepper. He starts in AAA or a little more time in AA. He has played all of 59 games at AA. He doesn't need to be thrown into the 2026 Twins until he is ready, assuming he has some things to still work on. Unless Culpepper is already at Bobby Witt levels he isn't going to turn this team into a contender with the supporting cast he would have. For better or for worse Brooks Lee is the best candidate to be the OD SS. Trading Joe Ryan on the other hand would make more sense to the 2026 Twins than rushing Culpepper would be.
  14. "If the Twins want Lee's bat in the lineup consistently," My question is, why would this be a desire at this point?
  15. Abel is my first choice for being in the OD rotation. Why trade Duran if you aren't going to utilize the piece that you got in return? And any talk of transitioning him into relief? No. More time at AAA? No. 5 days now until reporting for ST and this team is still very much a mess. I guess we'll wait and see if the next 6 weeks can clear any of this up or not.
  16. A lot of people have suggested trading Wallner this off season. I personally wouldn't. I think he is the teams best candidate for a bounce back season. Granted he's likely never going to be an all-star. He doesn't come to the plate enough because he is platooned. A good fielder he is not, I've wanted him as DH. But if he can get those 350-400 AB's he'll be a 3 WAR player if he can get to career average levels. Larnach has shown that he won't. Now Larnach is not a black hole and not this teams biggest problem, but he's average. I believe this team has been trying to trade Larnach since Nov 2024. But there are no takers and I question in him making 4.5 that there will be. I don't know what they will do with him. Backed into a corner imo.
  17. My vote is for Abel to be in the rotation with Matthews waiting in the wings at AAA. Bradley to the pen, he's had enough chance at failing as a starter. See how the pen works for him. Festa if he's ready to start the season goes to the pen. Whether that means he makes OD at ML or starts in AAA is up to how he shows up in ST. Just like Bradley he's had the shot as a starter. Guys like Raya and Morris haven't even shown they can succeed at AAA let alone ML. Festa has at least done the job in AAA well enough to warrant a BP tryout. I also don't see Prielipp as being ML ready. He's proven nothing yet, but I'd keep him as a starter for now. But my candidates for a transition as of now are only Festa and Bradley. All this could change if some trades happen.
  18. I personally would not call Falvey a scapegoat. But what I do contend is that this franchise is run by morons. Tom is front and center. You can't be so indecisive in October to not know which direction you are going in. If a switch from Joe to Tom was the direction you don't wait until December to do it. And it's not like Tom didn't have a clue that he and Falvey weren't on the same page. He has known and worked with Falvey for years. Falvey should have been gone in October as well. By the time the WS is over the direction for the organization for the off season should have been set. This is ridiculous. Contending to be a non contender and showing how dysfunction works.
  19. You must mean the Po'or'lads? The ones who want someone else to pay their way throughout life. The taxpayers subsidize them a stadium. They want a new owner to subsidize their bad debt, when they wouldn't they found these minority ones to do it.
  20. This is the culture of the Po 'or' lads. It will continue in the same ways until they are gone.
