  1. It is faster moving this season. But on the trade front, very little.
  2. The guys I would like to see the Twins get: Sign Walker- 2/13 Trade for both Ray and Steven Matz. No such thing as too much pitching. If at any point you have a glut there should be a buyer. No to Price, Boyd. Clevinger isn't realistic imo. Gray I'd be for also.
  3. Thanks. Then if he is someone we actually want to pursue we should get it done then. I'd welcome Ray, but for the price mentioned. I'm not interested if the price is Larnach, Balozovic, etc. I'd have Duran as a no trade for Ray as well.
  4. I would agree with trading for Ray for less than our non top 5 prospects. As for Ray, if we traded for him now we could extend a QO to him after the season if he wasn't extended thereby having him for 2 seasons. If however he was not acquired until after the season started is he then ineligible for a QO? I seem to remember that being the case. But I have heard AZ wanting to see how their season goes before considering a trade.
  5. First they have to make the PO's and I don't see them as a shoe in as some do. CWS is much better. Cle has yet not torn its team apart. LAA, NYY, Tex among others have improved greatly. MN has stood pat with a team that over performed in 2019. I see a house of cards that with one or two cards giving way the whole house does. Having a rotation that is reliant on untested rookies is not a good way to offset other weakness imo.
  6. Why did the Twins FO have interest in these guys then? Or did they just all of a sudden become not good players after we failed to get any of them?
  7. Sign both Wood and Walker and make a trade. These guys should both sign for a year for 6mil I would guess. And unless their arms fall off at least they buy time for the milb players to get some more time under their belts. Wood and Walker offer the best upside of what's left imo. No to Homer Bailey please.
  8. Not to mention the market has already been set by Wheeler of 23.5 per, which the FO wouldn't meet. Why would they do differently for Jake? They've made it clear. Players come here on a discount or they sign the next Martin Perez.
  9. That's why Jake Odorizzi will be gone soon too. These guys either get what they think is a deal or they don't budge. He should have been extended instead of receiving a QO. Bye Jake. Our starting rotation for opening day barring any injuries: 1. Berrios 2. Odorizzi 3. ? 4. ? 5. ?
  10. Yes unbelievable. Price is shot. The least of Dobnak, Thorpe, Smeltzer, Graterol and Romero are better than Price at this point. At most I'd be willing to take on 10mil per season of his contract and no prospect of significance going to Boston in return. 4/80 for Ryu bad. 3/96 for Price good. smh
  11. Exactly. When we are bad we hear" don't spend money since it would be a waste anyway". Then when we are good its " well we're already competitive we need to save our flexibility so we can be good longer". Cases in point are last season not acquiring a TOR when Syndegaard could have been had. This reminds me of the 2'000,s. After 2002 Jim Thome was available for money. The Twins saw no need so watched him go to Philly since we were already competitive. Thome was again available after 2005, again we watched him go to CWS. Instead of getting the players that could put us over the top we are content to watch a competitive team. I'm all for being OK as long as possible sure. But those true chances of a WS are usually very short lived.
  12. Or they pay about 60% of his salary making him a 12mil a season guy for the team that gets him. Price flat out broke down the last half of the season. No way a team will pay 27mil for a potential #5 SP. I think Price ends up in SD in a bad contract swap for Wil Meyers.
  13. Actually it was when we traded Johan Santana to the Mets for Carlos Gomez and a bunch of throw ins.
  14. Are you saying that this deal is a steal? Why would the Mets take it then?
  15. Look for a trade of Odo if we happen to be 5 GB on July 30th. Wouldn't that be a hoot?
  16. Its been widely reported that the Mets aren't interested in trading Syndegaard and this offer I don't believe will change their minds. We aren't getting an Ace for COF Larnach and 3 throw ins imo. Would we be willing to take this deal if the tables were turned? Its probably time to swing the deal with the Pirates for Chris Archer. Maybe getting reunited with Odo would get his career back on track.
  17. My take is it's not a Ynoa for Littell trade. We have two trades not one. Ynoa for Garcia was not a good trade. At the time it was a mediocre move by the FO for a playoff push. Then it was almost like a panic move to get rid of Garcia. Which leads us to the Garcia for Littell trade which is an obvious good trade. We're glad to have Zack and lets hope he continues to be solid in 2020.
  18. And this team has the **** resources to have acquired Kluber and failed to do so. I know the off season isn't over, but from the mid season trade deadline to December 15, I give them an F. This is on them, they are the ones that said when the window is open that they would strike. They have failed. Don't say it if you don't have the balls to follow through.
  19. I'd prefer Mitch Moreland as a 1B sign. Bird on an milb? Sure. Then wait for whoever is ready among Raley, Rooker, Larnach, Kirriloff.
  20. As for the Angels and what they will do after the Rendon signing, I would bet that they are even more likely to sign another SP. I would suspect that it is Ryu if the LAD are indeed going after madbum. Both of these teams have a lot of money they want to spend. If that happens that leaves Keuchel to be battled for by 7-8 teams besides the Twins. Might be time to buy early on our Wade Miley or Julio Tehran jerseys. Donaldson will be fought for by Was, Atl and Tex. Falvine has looked into him and by now turned the other way.
  21. Falvine said yesterday that they are still pursuing the FA route first. As long as Bumgarner, Ryu and Keuchel are still out there that is where they should be concentrating. If someone beats them to Price, then oh well. I suspect present internal options will be relied upon quite heavily this season. The FA SP's are dropping like flies, Porcello is now a Met.
  22. Nick, can you dig any deeper to find bad? Travis Wood would be my choice. Rendon is now off of our wish list
