  1. Even with the Paddack having a 2nd TJ I'm not against this trade. Assuming he comes back late next season and is decent. If you look and the Kenta trade its similar in that the Twins got around a season worth of starts (over two seasons) from him and he went under the knife. Yes I know Paddack hasn't made that many starts yet.. I wouldn't call that trade a bad one. I believe the Twins have about the same amount of team control left with both of them. But Graterol was/is more valuable because he wasn't a pending free agent. The Twins were going to be save by committee whether Rogers was here or in San Diego so his number would be a bit different if he was still a Twin. Getting Rooker off the 40 man was a win all by itself. Getting a starter, a scary BP arm and a top 20 prospect for a season of a very good reliever, a player with no place to play and 6 mil seem like a fair gamble. Escobar, Pressly and Berrios trades all were disappointing trades at the time. They don't look so bad now. Like so many other trades it's in my opinion to early to declare this trade good, bad or other.
  2. I want to be positive but that was an......Whoping start to finish...Gonna have to find another gear if we want any series wins...in the play offs....
  3. umm yeah..what I've seen this year he's two step ahead of anyone unlucky enough to throw him a strike. Hes playing like someone who has a boatload of bonus's he wants and plans on getting. More power to him 135 games and MVP with a huge paycheck that's well deserved. GO BUCK!
  4. a trade for a starting pitcher that included Rooker and Gordon would make this a lot simpler...FO..
  5. I’m waiting for the Twilight Zone music to start playing…
  6. I always enjoy your point of view Ted. Maybe both will have good or great years. That'd really change my thoughts on this off-season so far. The lack of more moves probably bothers me more than these two in the same line up. Feels like we're waiting on players to run out of chairs in this game of duck, duck, goose. Didn't the twins set a franchise record for losses the last time the off season felt this way??..
  7. Well I’m glad I didn’t buy any players jerseys yesterday…or game tickets for that matter…if this ends up being just a money saving move with no big salaries added with the savings I won’t be in need of either…got my hopes up with the Sony Gray trade yesterday..to wake up to this..
  8. Ok one more good starter and sign big Mike and we could have an average rotation. I hear Oakland has a starter or two that could be had. San Diego has a couple extra arms. Tough to see Petty go but HS pitchers are a crap shoot. Might be a future cy young winner and may never make it to the bigs.
  9. I keep looking at the Padres as a good match for the Twins as a trade partner. paddock and abrams would fill two of the twins biggest needs. In order to get the Padres to part with Those two I would expect the Twins would have to take on Hosmers contract. Why not Hosmer, Paddack and abrams for Sano, Martin and one of our 20-30 ranking pitchers. Maybe I’m way off on value but would solve issues for both teams and between Lewis and Abrams one should stick at SS
  10. I'd like to see him resigned at a reasonable wage.1 year with an option. With Gordon taking his lumps in AAA. another year in Rochester may be what's best for both him and the Twins. Buxton I believe has had at least a year wasted because of the rush to bring him up. I don't want to see that happen to what could be an outstanding infielder. He's still only 22 years old. I realize we all want an instant fix at 2nd base but I don't think overwhelming Gordon with expectations or comparisons to Dozier is fair or wise. Let the young man get there on merit not projections..
  11. I had really hoped they'd keep Escobar. But the return looks pretty good for 2 month of Escobar. None of them will need to be rule 5 protected. All are 22 or younger, MLB claims Duran has a #3 starter ceiling, Maciel has + speed and fielding and De La Trinidad has the offensive stats. Eduardo may be the 1st call the twins make once the free agent market open.
