    The Tinney pick surprised me. I'm not high on him but I'll just root for him even more to prove me wrong. I like the amount of filled out pitchers they drafted. Hopefully they just need a little refinement, rather than to adjust to their growth i.e. filling out and refinement. My pick for fast mover is Burns. I have to root for a fellow Wisconsinite! He went to HS about 30 min from where I live. My pick for ending up being a steal is Teel plus it rhymes!

    I noticed that as well. Picking middle linebackers rather the tall skinny point guards. Maybe that skips the "When they fill out" part? To the post, Burns is the steal for me. Every bit a BP arm. Some coaching and a little luck and he could be a dandy SP. If not he's a BP arm to keep an eye on. Teel is an interesting prospect. Probably gets a little down note due to Twins current crop of OFr's. A lot there to like.

    How soon could Lackey be in the majors?...One of my kids just asked from the back seat. How much further is it?😉 Sometime in 2028 is my guess.

    The biggest surprise for me is how bad the AL is as a whole. But for the Twins. I agree. Bradley has been a big surprise. I thought maybe a #4 or#5. he pitched like a #2 and that's because Ryan has been so good. Imagine if Lopez was healthy and doing his usual thing. That's a tough top 3. Clemens is well on his way to being the team MVP. Bux #'s say it should be him. But the flexibility pushes him over the finish line just a whisker ahead of the Buck truck for me. It's hard for me to point to any one Twin for the defense. There are just too many bat 1st players on the roster. With all the changes in the field I'm willing to do a wait and see on that as a whole. Also, this is part of why I think Clemens is the team MVP. Forgot 1 thing on the positive side. IDK who should get the kudos. They have made a point of we have to be better on defense and are trying to fix it. That may be the biggest surprise of all..

    I'm not overly worried about Tait. This year's draft picks may or will join him there. Lackey and Tinney are 1-2 years older than him. That's a ton of ABs, innings played, hundreds of hours or practice and boatloads of working with coaches. Way too early to get down on him, also rule 5 draft? He hasn't been Twin for a full season yet. Jeez relax. In 2-3 years when Lackey takes over starting catcher and Tinney takes 1B after Lewis gets paid elsewhere and he's the BU catcher. The next season Tait can join them as BU catcher and platoon 1B with Tinney. All will be good.😉 Oops forgot about Diaw...I love his bat but don't think he is an MLB catching prospect. Kinda like Keaschall. I'd rather see Diaw in the OF

    One thing I wonder about is Lackey, Tinney, Tait and Jimenez should all be in A or A+ to start next season. That's a lot of talent needing ABs. Maybe a little 1B/DH/Catching? I should point out Jimenez is one of my heavily rooting for guys from last season's sell off and draft. Fan Graphs has Tinney and Tait rated very similarly when it comes to tools. Which surprised me a bit, of course, Tait is a year and 1/2 younger though. Lackey was their #1 prospect in this draft. Jenkins, Lackey then Culpepper. We're talkin 1.000, 1.001 and 1.002. Tough problem to have...

    Interesting article. My 2 cents is he'll slot in as #2. Top 25 nationally. If he had the same grades and was IDK..CF?? let's say for the sake argument, he'd be between 3-5. If he plays, this season, or next. AA is likely the best outcome for him in 2027. Much like Houston. Jenkins, Culpepper and Emanual Rodgriguez ahead of him today. Unlikely by the end of the season. Late 2028 starter or ROY 2029 starter at C is my guess

    Pretty happy with day 1. So far, they seem to be picking big dudes. Vahn 6'2" 215, Tinney 6'4" 240, Renfrow 6'3" 220, LaPour 6'4 245. I'm not going to pick through previous drafts but it seems like these guys are more filled out then previous drafts. No 6'5" 175 lbs. guys so far. Meaning all power forwards

    Holmann is looking like a good signing last winter. Luis Fradoza and Justin Mitrovish seem like they have A ball figured out. Time to see the corn fields of Cedar Rapids soon?

    Not too excited about this pick myself. After the 1st round and the last trade deadline C has some real depth. From the outside looking in. I see a 1B (eventually). Now don't get me wrong we should and could use one like him right now. but 2-4 years from now. Not so sure. I would have preferred a pitcher with 2 plus pitches.

    Well let's see here. The red Sox have won 15 or they're last 20 games... The Marlins have the 3rd Wild card in the NL and the Bluejays are 1/2 game behind the Twins...Gonna have to aim lower. I'd suggest Robbie Ray instead of Kevin Guasman.

    If only the AL was decent in W/L records this decision would be much simpler. Then throw in a new CBA. (eventually) Two new ownership groups added 500 mil and Tom Pohlads 1st season as CEO...What a mess... Just on the unknown CBA makes comparing the trades mentioned kind unfair. The Brewers had years of clear sailing ahead. I don't want to get into the weeds on the new CBA. To many unknowns If one or two of Pablo, Festa or Abel were healthy and performing, now is the time. But they aren't... Plus the SP depth is completely depleted. I guess I'm in the "if it's a substantial overpay" column. A top 15 player you just can't pass those offers up. A package of 3-4 maybes, I'd pass. Also, I think extending Ryan is likely to turn out bad. He's going to want 4-7 years, is 30 years old. That's a lot of miles on his arm. To many pitcher crash and burn after age 32.

    Nice low-cost trade. Probably not a lot of upside but a stabilizing type of arm. Sands should be back soon. He should slot between Gomez and Nance. I thought I saw something about Garret Action starting to rehab? Maybe need a leftie to take Funderburk's spot?

    As of today. I'd say take a look at the last 10 games for the Red Sox and Tigers. They both may be buying by the deadline. Both have + run differentials and expected win totals of 48. For now, I'd remove any of their players from your wish list. Of course I'd like to see Sonny back in a Twins uni. Chapman closing out games for the Twins. Adding Mize would be as good adding Gray. But....

    What if Falvey only traded for him to get his old man (Roger) to come to Target field? 😜 The Twins have had a great run at "where did this guy come from??" players. Arraez to Castro to Clemens. I've never big BOO guy of Falvey and Lavine. Zoll, too early to tell. Definitely his best or second best to date of 2025. Probably top 4 maybe 5 of all his trades. I'd put Ryan and Duran trades above it and maybe Taj Bradley, he did give up Jax for him so there was a cost there. I'm on the fence as to which was a bigger add to 2025.

    The normal drop in performance for AAA to MLB is usually what? Between 100-200 points in OPS? There's definitely a spot for him at SS when he's healthy. But this injury isn't catastrophic event. If Houston has similar number when he gets to AAA and still playing good D. Culpepper is likely going to move to 2nd base. Right now, that looks like a season or two from now.

    I'm in on taking a calculated shot at a WC or the division. 2 BP arms and some underperforming starter would be as far as I'd go. Jeffers, I'd try to extend. If that's a no go like Berrios was, I'd move him. No point in losing him to free agency for zip. I've seen the Yankees stuff about Jeffers. If that happens I don't see them parting with any BP arms on the 26-man roster. They are trying to get to the WS. SO, you have to pick from the 40 man and minors. There's a few that fit the Twins needs. Larnach...I actually was for keeping him in the offseason. My reasoning was if the kids can't beat him out, hold till the trade deadline. Now it's a few weeks away. The Twins will need to find the right team to do a trade that helps this season and beyond. I'm looking at the Astros as the best target. Same as the Yankees. But they have a few minor league arms that might fill a BP spot. Now the tricky part, The Twins have way too many outfielders looking for a spot in the majors. If they are trying to win now and build for 2027+ they have to decide who has a future in Minesota...Jenkins is off limits. But after that who? Something has to give. I'll just point to the Giants as my choice to help the BP and another starter. I'm going to lose a few here...Tyler Mahle or Robbie Ray would fill the starter to save inning on the young arms. They have a few MLB BP arms I could see them parting with.
