  1. I might be a good fit for this role as well! I'm too old. too slow and too fat...But I do watch movies and they say I can do it. I'll pick up my jersey tomorrow afternoon after this hang over wears off and I get the lawn mowed. Maybe after just the hangover part. We'll see. Text me before you drop it off in case I am napping. Thx go Twins!
  2. I see a lot of DeShawn Keirsey in this argument. Could also be another Mickey Gasper. But after August 3rd if he's still tearing it up bring him up with a long runway to succeed or fail. E Rod and Jenkins will probably be hurt again by then...
  3. For better or worse, this needed to happen. Here's hoping he finds his swing and confidence and is back sooner than later.
  4. I'm not a big fan of trading for pop up players which is really what Rojas was when they traded for him. Trading a reliever that we don't have the BP to get the ball to is the worst trade in Twins history? Carlos Santana says WHAT? He has a total of 5.2 innings in MLB and a .2 WAR A 2.438 WHIP...So the concerns are legit. Let's hold off till he has 40 innings to get too high or low on him.
  5. Nice bounce back for Gallagher and Hill. The move up in the minors can be tough on pitchers and position players.
  6. We have been spoiled with very few starting pitching injuries for quite a while now. This really just feels like a return to mean. Look at the Dodgers the last few seasons. Astros this season? But to the point of the article. Defiantly higher than usual for the Twins. Thankfully only 1 full season lost. Although a BIG one. The rest at this point are hopefully a few weeks to heal and return. Except maybe Festa. Like Duran...He might need to head to the DP to dominate and stay healthy. Prielipp has looked pretty good so far, and Rojas is going to walk to many, but might be legit and Morris is starting to settle in. SWR is bound to have tough stretches. He doesn't really have any + pitches. So going to have a few clunkers and a few nice games. Hopefully more of the latter
  7. Wait HE'S STILL om the team? Don't we have enough LH no D corner OF's? I see lately we've moved on to Wallner. But still they set the FLOOR. E Rod and Jenkins can't stay healthy long enough to be a threat. At least we don't have a SS. Wait did I do it again.... Baseball isn't heroin. Sometimes you have to wait for the results you're after. That being said...The results may not last much longer... It's a game, right??
  8. My favorite part has to be "The Twins probably have to pay for their own sunflower seeds." Thanks for the laugh, Stu
  9. This is one of those if they had or had not senecios. Would they have won as many games those seasons? Would they have been better off putting the payroll elsewhere? What about who was drafted during that time? 30 mil a season isn't just about want that player does
  10. Grats to Morris! Hopefully your 1st and only call up. Hoping for Laweryson's strain turns out to be a mild issue or a nothing issue. As for Kreidler... I'd like to see him starting at SS with Lee at 3rd. No one's been hitting (in those spots) much before so improved defense and not hitting seem like a marginal improvement....
  11. I'm not ready to compare Jenkins to any previous Twin yet. The injury bug has made it too volatile to really think about. Maybe by midseason I will get there. Just hoping for good health and productive seasons from most of the Twins Daily top 10. That'll make August 4th more exciting.
  12. I appreciate the optimism! BUT There was a lot of enough's in the piece for me to add one more. If healthy enough. It's been the Twins curse for what now?? The last 3 seasons??
  13. I'm not a huge Larnach fan but what is with this trade him asap thing. I don't want Outman as our LH DH..He'll (Larnach) likely will produce 20 or more HR's and 60+ RBI's. We have what 1-2 others that look like they will do that? Profar is down. Shame on him. Outmans available reasonably...Braves...
  14. I get it but the WBC makes this spring training a bit different the last one. Everything seem to be year by year in MLB lately, so it seems fair to limit to that now. He is expected to be part of the OF mix. Although your article may have legs, I think it is likely a bit early for it. In a few years sure
  15. Fair enough. I would say, in my defense, the game was played a lot differently in 2004 then it is today. Comparing a players AA stats to a hall of famer can be a little misleading. Let's let him earn that top 15 rank not hand it to him because we want that to be true.
  16. By that you mean before he faced the Yankees today? 😜 I see a lot about Mendez in previous posts. I'm a fan of him as well. BUT He's way too much of a ground ball hitter right now. The whispers about a move to 1B gives him some helium but I think just inside the top 20 is a fair assessment until he proves to be the 1B of the future or starts lifting the ball more. Preferibly both. Most of these players have their warts so mostly projection and where they were drafted. Seems like a fair location on the top 20 list
  17. I have high hopes for Rojas. That being said, trading for a guy that seems to be being pushed is a pause sign to me. They still traded for him but with very little track record in the top tier of Mlib. One of the many you hope will work out but shouldn't plan on it.
  18. I'm not buying Tom's BS. He's trying to play 3 card Monte with the fans. Pablo being lost for this season and a big part of next season is a HUGE loose. Can the young guy's collectively equal Pablo's War (or whatever measure you prefer) sure. Why not? Will they? They play the games for a reason. Still not buying tickets...But will be in the area Labor Day weekend. Make me want to see a game then Twins.
  19. Man, what a terrible way to start the spring training... hate to say it but I'm sure a few others are thinking/saying it. A couple more injuries and we're looking at a tough fight for 70 wins if we weren't already. Play the kids instead of bringing in some cooked vet. Rooting for a quick and full recovery for Pablo. One of my favorite Twins.
  20. Every now and then even a blind squirrel finds a nut. This could be the Twins year.
