  1. He is what we've seen them (the FO) doing the last couple of seasons..Outside of an unexpected increase in pay he'll be back and really should be. Is he Correa NO..is he Celestino. NO. A quality player at a reasonable cost. He'll be back. I'll be happy to see him on the roster
  2. Carlos Aguiar is having himself a nice season in Fort Meyers. Him, Emmanuel Rodriguez (injured and done for the season) and Misael Urbina all manning the OF in Fort Meyers with .850 OPS or higher. Some of the international signings are starting to show up. Nowlin had a heck of a debut! Hoping Brooks Lee keeps it rolling. I don't get the pitcher usage. Is Enlow a BP arm now?
  3. I'm not overly concerned about the overall rankings. The back half of these individual rankings are kinda a crap shoot and someone ranked 75 on one could be 125 on another. The top 10 I'm more focused on as those are expected to be our difference makers. If I look at MLBs top 10 for the Twins I feel really good about our system. A couple other things I'd like to mention is the Twins 2020 draft has, other then Raya, been a dud and the 2021 draft most of the 1st 5 rounds have been traded for current Twins players. Also look at Baseball reference for the average team age. The Twins have the 5th youngest roster at 26.9 years old in MLB. The only teams younger and in the hunt for the playoff spot are the Guardians (when's the last time they signed a veteran player?) and the Blue Jays. Close to 1/2 of our 40 man has less then 2 years of XP in MLB and most are our prospects. No need to be concerned. I'm more concerned about why mlb network has to only show games with NY or California as part of the teams description...I live in Wisconsin so Bally only seems to have Brewers or White Sox...
  4. Mark Moriarty and Richard Salazar (Cedar Rapids pitching coaches) seem to have a magic touch. The DSL hitters are putting up some impressive numbers.
  5. Looking at Baseball Reference his numbers are only slightly below his career norms. I had hoped for more but will take it over Kiner-Falefa's numbers for the season. Looking at the trades that made signing Correa possible. We traded 4.3 war for 4.3 war. Better OPS+ at SS and 3rd and it opened up at least one possibly 2 roster spots or our young players like Miranda.
  6. I was interested in Will Holland's numbers for the season. I'm pretty sure that Will Holland didn't get an extra base hit last night. Nice to see Enlow have a decent outing.
  7. If I remember right didn't the FO give Cotton a pretty decent contract for a minor league deal? I could be wrong but that may be part of the reason he keeps making his way through waivers this season.
  8. Nice move. Now lets get at least one of Fulmer, Edwards Jr, Bass or Givens to shore up the BP. Maybe give up our next born for a good starter and everything else is bonus
  9. As a Sano fan I hope he plays well and creates this much hand wringing and comments though the rest of the season and when the time comes to pick up or not pick up his option.
  10. Hmm interesting trade target. A few seasons ago we did a trade with them Romo and Vallimont for Lewin Diaz. There's plenty of possible bull pen arms on their big league club that may help the Twins and add Nardi to. Miami could use bats and we certainly have a few of those we could part with to make something work.
  11. I remember when Jacob DeGrom was a short stop..Hope one of these guys turns out like him...as a Twin..
  12. https://www.prospectslive.com/prospects-live/2022-mlb-draft-top-400-prospects-h8bxx 577 Ben Ross SS Notre Dame College Springfield, OH Ross had a mammoth freshman campaign with Notre Dame College, hitting .426 with eleven homers, striking seldomly. Reasonably unknown on the national scouting circuit, Ross is a rangy defender with good hands on the dirt and a strong arm. He doesn't possess a ton of bat speed, but his bat path is optimized for damage and he drives the ball with authority to all-fields. Scouts will want to see how he can fare against better competition, something that will be a challenge given NDC's current slate.
  13. All the way to 20? That seems a bit far for someone who was expected to be a top 5 pick before TJ. Although the extra slot $ from the trade would give them the ammo to get him to skip going to Vandy
  14. Hoping for Parada, Lee or Lesko. Either of the 1st two would require some under slot deals before the Twins pick and luck. Lesko would be a bit high for a coming of TJ and full slot signing bonus.
  15. Just not another corner OF/DH type plz.. Go for upside at #8
  16. Congrats to both of them. It's well deserved. Was hoping for a pitcher like Varland to make it also. His numbers are really impressive.
  17. Going from the White Sox, Gaurdians and Royals to the Yankees, Rays and Red Sox 19 times each per season I'd guess has a lot to do with it. Plus the parks are no where near as pitcher friendly. I think the results if the Twins had given him that contact would have been quite a bit better. As for the prospects i expect both of them to be quality big league regulars. Pair Martain with Arraez and hopefully you have two .300+ hitters with .400 OBP and maybe 10-15 homers per season. that's a lot of RBI's for whoever follows either of them. Richardson who knows?? Pitchers are so hit or miss compared to bats. Hopefully he's a 1-2-3 starter. But maybe he's a BP arm. I still believe in a couple years he'll make it to the show.
  18. Even with the Paddack having a 2nd TJ I'm not against this trade. Assuming he comes back late next season and is decent. If you look and the Kenta trade its similar in that the Twins got around a season worth of starts (over two seasons) from him and he went under the knife. Yes I know Paddack hasn't made that many starts yet.. I wouldn't call that trade a bad one. I believe the Twins have about the same amount of team control left with both of them. But Graterol was/is more valuable because he wasn't a pending free agent. The Twins were going to be save by committee whether Rogers was here or in San Diego so his number would be a bit different if he was still a Twin. Getting Rooker off the 40 man was a win all by itself. Getting a starter, a scary BP arm and a top 20 prospect for a season of a very good reliever, a player with no place to play and 6 mil seem like a fair gamble. Escobar, Pressly and Berrios trades all were disappointing trades at the time. They don't look so bad now. Like so many other trades it's in my opinion to early to declare this trade good, bad or other.
  19. I want to be positive but that was an......Whoping start to finish...Gonna have to find another gear if we want any series wins...in the play offs....
  20. umm yeah..what I've seen this year he's two step ahead of anyone unlucky enough to throw him a strike. Hes playing like someone who has a boatload of bonus's he wants and plans on getting. More power to him 135 games and MVP with a huge paycheck that's well deserved. GO BUCK!
  21. a trade for a starting pitcher that included Rooker and Gordon would make this a lot simpler...FO..
  22. I’m waiting for the Twilight Zone music to start playing…
  23. I always enjoy your point of view Ted. Maybe both will have good or great years. That'd really change my thoughts on this off-season so far. The lack of more moves probably bothers me more than these two in the same line up. Feels like we're waiting on players to run out of chairs in this game of duck, duck, goose. Didn't the twins set a franchise record for losses the last time the off season felt this way??..
  24. Well I’m glad I didn’t buy any players jerseys yesterday…or game tickets for that matter…if this ends up being just a money saving move with no big salaries added with the savings I won’t be in need of either…got my hopes up with the Sony Gray trade yesterday..to wake up to this..
