  1. Braxton Garrett or Jesus Luzardo. The cost shouldn't be too terribly high for either. Both have a chance to be a 1 or 2.
  2. I get everyone keeps saying Kepler as most likely. But I'd say Arraez is the most likely right now. Kep has little to no trade value right now. Arraez may never have this much trade value again. If they are looking for a difference maker it will cost someone like Arraez ++
  3. The C4 signing sure changes thing in a lot of ways. I wouldn't trade any of the guys mentioned. Gordon and Martin as our super utility players for the next 5+ years sounds pretty good to me. Correa, Miranda, Lee, Lewis, Juilien and Polanco holding down 2nd, 3rd and short for the next 5+ years again sounds pretty good to me. WHY are so many in such a hurry to move on from Polanco? He's been our best, most reliable performer probably the last 3-5 seasons. His contract options are dirt cheap... Arreaz and Kirilloff at 1st? Wrist...Knees,,zero slug.. Not much on the way, that I can think of, in the minors. Miranda may need to end up at 1st as the others make their way to the bigs.
  4. Stunned and thrilled. I'm going to guess the physical is a forgone conclusion due to the contract structure. Welcome back CC!
  5. Enlow being DFA'd surprised me. I'll be surprised if he makes it through waivers. Hoping he does..
  6. I don't agree with the plan currently being taken. That being said, I agree with most what FDG has to say here. I actually like 1 year deals. 1 year of unhappy Lynn, JA Happ or Logan Morrison was enough. I'm expect 1 year of Gallo will be more then enough. Imagine the complaining if we still have Donaldson on the team for the final year of his contract. I'll invest my hopes in the young guys who will be around longer.
  7. It really doesn't make sense to bring in a middle to back end of the rotation starter at this point does it? We will more then likely have 3 open starter spots next season and 6-8 guys in the minors that need a shot at one of those spots. Maybe we pull one of two out of that pile and only need to sign Wacha next offseason...

    Joey Gallo?

When I saw this move, I felt like I was Curly in this photo....Thad Levine and Derek Falvey are the ones pulling my ears...
  9. I actually like this move. I could be wrong but seems like a better depth player then any we had at St Paul last year. He's had more success than Jermaine Palacios or Tim Beckham.
  10. Yeah, but all of the division falling flat on their faces seems unlikely. Hold your breath till something good happens isn't much of a plan..
  11. Hmm. It might be simpler to have a list that is Twins who played well last year and the other 20+ need to step up 1. Arreaz 1A. Duran 2. Gordon 3. Miranda Everyone else...
  12. Cohens spending is not good for my love or the game. The Twins lack of spending is even worst for my love of the game. The Pirates have spent more on FA's then the Twins. Hopefully the Mets wins a world series or two and the other owners will be forced to do something real to address inequality of the sport. With the new labor agreement I don't see much changing until this one has run it course...I'm preparing for four years of disappointment.
  13. I saw this earlier today and was hoping it worked out in the Twins favor. But on second thought I hope it works out for Carlos Correa. Whatever that may be. Some athlete with a knee/leg/ whatever issue. I get it. 8-12 years with that in the background has to be cause for pause. BUT if you're signing anyone for that long you already threw caution to the wind. Stop trying to buy low and take care of the guy and his family. Did we notice anything last season. I sure didn't.
  14. Most of these moves I agree with. I'm just not certain what the FO has in mind. At this point it looks to me like it's a let the kids play plan and not worry about competing for the division. If that is where it ends up then 1 year contracts is all I would expect from this FO, Eovaldi isn't really worth the lost pick and Adames doesn't make much sense then. The Twins are stuck in-between being completive and burning it down. So many key young players injured last season. That cost them a year of cheap control and no answers on most of them. Who knows what the young guys will do in a full season. Now throw in most of best starters are gone after this season..
  15. Pablo Lopez would be a fine addition to a team trying to win. If this FO actually has a plan...and if it is to compete...He could help. The cost would be high. With them being paralyzed by sticker shock on free agents I can't seem them parting with the players it would take to get Lopez in a Twins jersey..
  16. I still hate this signing. Joey Gallo or Michael Brantley I know which one I would prefer...
  17. If Gallo is worth $11 mil by their charts, spreadsheet's or whatever. Sano must be worth 12x1. Sign me up! One more season wearing his jersey would only mean i threw away 1/2 my money.
  18. IDK why but this seems pretty simple to me. Creating fan support requires buzz. Yeah know, like last season. We got who to play SS? Now we've lost out on Correa. Ok, I can live with that. But get a few other guys to excite the fan base! Gallo...on a 1 years deal...Bad enough we've moved on from Sano who we've all rooted for at one point or another. MTB trade rumors says we're interested in Turner and Pollack..An hour later Turner signs with the Red Sox...6 years in and now we're looking at a likely reset? I'm 6 year's into my current employment. If I stop doing my job, I don't make year 7....the FO job is to win games, fill the stands and create buzz. i.e....excitement...Not succeeding, are you? You do realize you are in the entertainment industry?
  19. No Correa...Well let's load up one-year veterans. If we can even due that. Crushing offseason so far..
  20. After seeing the Gallo signing I want to thank Ted for the welcome distraction. I think Lewis will get to the bigs 1st. Lee has a lot to prove in AA next season. There is a lot to like about the Twins infield and outfield prospects. But another full season will make it a bit clearer.
  21. I try and be positive about the Twins but JeZus H Ch>>st...Gallo? I tied to say a few things about it, but I give up. I can't even pretend to understand this one...
  22. Yikes! Let's reup Sano as well. That way we have 40% k rate from both side of the plate...
  23. In this market that's a good contract. Congrats to both of them.
  24. and I thought I was the only one. cheers!
  25. WOW this thread really grew today. Well done mnfireman! You found the soft spot. I get the anger/frustration. I'm not happy either. I'm not one to punt on much of anything. So maybe I'm naive. To steal from a fictional character: "Fear is the path to the dark side...fear leads to anger...anger leads to hate...hate leads to suffering." The Phantom Menace (Yoda) I'm not there yet.
