  1. Outside of an injury, I would be surprised if he called it quits. More power to him if he does. I think I prefer Bleacher Reports bold 2nd half predictions that he signs an extension (3/60) with the Twins.
  2. One or both would be good with me. I'll throw in T.C. Bear just in case he's a leftie. A $20 gift certificate to Pizza Ranch should cover it. In all seriousness. They need to make a change. Give the young guys as long a runway as you can and if they don't look like the answer there should be an option or two in the FA market this winter.
  3. Sounds like a great young man. Wishing him the best. I've been only to two MLB stadiums, Target field and Miller field. Target is 10X better then Miller/Am fam field. IDC where he plays. Sounds like he's got the raw tools to play all over the diamond.
  4. It would depend on who we would have to part with to bring him onboard. I'd guess a package that starts with Ober. They shouldn't have much interest in our position players. They're dealing with too many young position players as is. So probably a no ty in the end.
  5. Of course, they can. Will they? They are by far the best team in my notebook. But due to their lack of professional at bats bad teams win divisions too. If they decide to be professionals at their professions...It could be fun to watch.
  6. I respect your thoughts and opinion. You tend to be neither pro or against what's happening today and look at most things beyond only this season. IDK If you or others have heard whether he's doing the senior thing. More power to him. The lack of being drafted says something is going on there. If he can get healthy and show his talent more power to him, 2nd or 3ed round twin next year.😊 Just kind of riding it out. I think we missed out on a catcher or two but none the less I really like this draft. through 10 rounds.
  7. Watching the MLB steam. Kudos to Mayo still rocking the bow tie 4 hours in. 😁 What's up with Texas Tanner Witt on their draft board #76
  8. Oh. I confused your response with another. My bad. Still Texas took Langford before the Twins could take him and now my 2nd day catcher...Hopefully both works out in the Twins favor.
  9. It only takes one. As of right now Ober comes to mind. I doubt there's any other 12th round or later picks with 2.9 WAR this season from that or any draft class since. It only takes one.
  10. No agruement here. I just like a young college senior with 55 arm and 50 defense. More arms works as well.
  11. I like this draft at this point. Winokur and Hall stand out to me on day 2. Winokur has all kinds of upside and add a tick or two to Hall's stuff and he could go from good to really good. If the pool money works out Questad is interesting as well. Grow 2 inches and add 20 lbs of muscle and he could be a starter as well. A lot of Marco Raya in size and stuff right now. Harry has that none 20-80 scale factor. He's just a good ball player. Haven't picked a catcher yet...How about Julian Brock from ULL
  12. Thrilled with day 1 picks. Not sure if they will need to find some draft pool savings or not because of the 1st two pick. If not, I'd like to see Cam Johnson or catcher with the next pick. The farm seems a bit light on LH starter prospects and catchers. A lot of the more exciting position player prospects the last few years have come in these rounds. hoping for more of the same.
  13. 100% agree with this. Opening day starter to mistake in 4 months. Jeez let's give the guy a little rope. Time to chime in about Akili Badoo anyone?
  14. He hasn't been on the team for a year yet. Might be a little quick to pass judgement. Plus look at the guys drafted just before or after. He's player better then all of them except Neto. Sabato does have an .822 OPS with just 6 home runs. I think he's actually playing much better of late, and his fielding is .991. I'm probably jinxing him by saying good things about him, but I think he is improving over what we saw before this season.
  15. Pablo Lopez added to the All-Star roster.

    2023 All-Star Game rosters (mlb.com)

    Congrats to Pablo!

  16. I stepped away for ten minutes and the game was over when I came back...6 runs is too much for this offence to overcome. Can't expect the starters to hold them under 3 runs every game...
  17. I get where you're coming from. It would be a great time to sell. BUT, like the moves or not, you don't sell when you signed Correa, Gallo and traded for Lopez and you're in 1st place. No matter how bad the division is. 2023 central division champs is forever, whether it 84 wins or 104 wins, 1st round playoff loss or ALCS loss. Milwaukee tried it last year. I'm pretty certain they won't do that again this year. I know you are not going to agree with me and that's fine. 5-10 games back I'm with you, if things stay as they are, like it or not, you buy. As for the article. Justin Turner would be at the top of my list. I believe he brings much more to a team then what's on the back of his baseball card and what is there would be a big upgrade to the lineup. Pham..There is something about him that says only use in case of emergency to me. pass BP arms. Yes please, 1-2 could be a big boost to the pen.
  18. I wanted to say that I like a lot of your choices after the 2nd round. I'm not big on Gonzeles at 5, like many others. If there's a bunch of pool money saved to keep some HS players from going to college with the comp pick, 2nd rounder or later rounds, I can live with it. With the depth of this draft there is an opportunity to have a farm changing draft class. The bonus pool money is the way to pull that off. Otherwise, keep it simple.
  19. Nice work! This will be a very useful tool for following the draft.
  20. If they are going the under-slot root, I like both of the guys you mention much more than Gonzalas. Going starting pitcher or CF at 5 is defensible compared to borderline 3B/SS likely 2B. As an armchair GM... I'd rather they went the keep it simple route and take the guy with star potential that lands in their lap.
  21. If they do much at the deadline, and if they're in or close to 1st place they owe it to the players and the fans to do some moves to add. I don't expect any big moves like Goldschmidt, Snell, Hader or expensive underperforming Mets players. I'd hope for a reliever like the White Sox Keynan Middleton and a position player like the Red Sox Justin Turner. Middleton is a rental, similar to Fulmer last season. Turner has a player opt out that sounds like an almost certainty he will take. So technically a rental. Neither should cost much in prospect capital. Polanco, Steward and Thielbar should be back before the deadline and Lewis a few weeks after. Which could make both of these moves unnecessary.
  22. Maybe is something I'm doing but the box score are all from the 4th not the 6th.
  23. I've seen people compare today's players to racehorses compared to yester years' work horse players. Maybe there is some truth to that. All players seem to be more injury prone now Imo. Maybe its players are more muscle bound now than in the past. Guys playing 150 games in a season is rarer than a complete game nowadays... As for Lewis I struggle with calling him injury prone. A slip on ice in Texas, playing out of position to keep him in the line-up and an oblique injury feels like bad luck to me. Jazz Chisom and Jose Altuve went on the IL in the last week for the same issue. There are probably others. Kirilloff. Cronic wrist issue and TJ. The wrist seems fine now (not that that can't change) and TJ on a position player is rarely a long-term issue. Buxton. yeah, injury prone. Martin. Looking more and more injury prone. The injury bug seems league wide and likely a combination of bad luck, physical strength of players now and training staff.
  24. I'm open to any of the top 5. I think Langford, Skenes and Crews are the ones you can't pass on. Jenkins or Clark, I'd be happy if they drafted either, just not sure about the you can't justify passing on them part. I'm hoping for some under slot funny business in the top 4 and one of the first three are there at 5. But if it's Clark at 5 that's a great start to the draft. Especially when they should be picking at 13.
