  1. Thanks for the report! One term still bewilders me; Development List. What exactly is that list? And long must a player stay on this list before he can play again?
  2. Sorry, I know this is nitpicking, but my old editor habits call this one to attention: He’ll join Griffin Jax and Blake Stewart as high-leverage arms in the club’s relief corps. Obviously, you were referring to Brock Stewart.!
  3. Good point. Baseball is indeed a strange and unpredictable game. Wins are wins, so I won't quibble.
  4. I'm also pleased by what I've seen from Austin Martin thus far. With more experience and games under his belt he'll be looking like a player worth keeping.
  5. I'll second the motion! Yes, a very nice turnaround this week, but we also need to remember that we were facing the White Sox and the Angels, both teams that are/were struggling worse than we were. Nevertheless, lots of positive signs this week, so let's hope the hits keep coming!
  6. Hey, we all love home runs, but seeing a game like this with 17 hits and no homers, yet the Twins scoring 11 runs makes me jump for joy! More games like this would be VERY welcome!
  7. Hits, hits, and more hits. Even Farmer got some hits. Let's hope this trend continues. Not an encouraging outing by Paddack by the rest of the team made up for it. Let's hope for another win on Sunday!
  8. Another excellent report, Seth, Thanks for that and the videos. What a catch in center by Keirsey! And lots of other encouraging performances by players across the system. Hope to see more of these youngsters called up later this season.
  9. Margot certainly hasn't hit as well as expected, but the biggest disappointment for me so far this season has been Kyle Farmer. A very valuable utility player and sometime starter last year, but he hasn't done much to warrant any more playing time this season.
  10. Gallo now batting a robust .143 for the Nationals. But he's learned how to take walks again, giving him an OBP of .316. Not a player we will miss.
  11. Very good article and analysis. I didn't realize that release extension for a pitcher could be so big a factor, So yes, it WILL be interesting to see if the Twins tinker with Soto in that respect. In any case, very excited to see him finally pitching and pitching well!
  12. Jarvis was yet another player I watched play when he was with the Orlando Twins. I didn't realize that he was picked at #9 in the first round! I recall him having a lot of speed but not much power. Didn't he also have a brother that played in the majors too?
  13. I was a fan of Brito when he played AA ball with the Orlando Twins way back in the day. I always hoped that he would make more an impact in the majors, but at least he got a chance.
  14. Yes indeed! Not only did he strike out 10 batters, but he didn't walk anyone at all. More starts like this, please!
  15. Very true, which makes this current condition all the more puzzling, or at least very frustrating. We still have a week to go until the end of April, so hopefully there is still SOME hope for a rebound soon. But man, this team has really looked awful thus far.
  16. Rortvedt now batting a robust .345 for the Rays, Sure, it's early in the season, but who saw that coming!?
  17. Sad and very shocking. Much too young. Yeah, he was pretty much a bust with the Twins, considering that he was the number 3 draft choice that year, and I think coming off a College Player of the Year award too. But as another poster just mentioned, he DID have a multi-year run in the majors, so not a total bust, but like so many other players he never lived up to the high expectations.
  18. I was happy to see Willie Joe Garry with the Twins in Spring Training and he played well. But this far, I haven't noticed his name in any of the minor league reports. How is he doing so far?
  19. I'm puzzled by the innings/pitches limit on Raya too. I could understand the team doing it last year, but why again this season too? Is he really that fragile?
  20. I'm with you on that one. Possibly the most useless of all the new so-called "advanced" stats that are flying around all too often in posts and articles.
  21. On a somewhat positive note, what a joy it is to see Buxton playing center field again. Okay, he's among several guys not hitting much, but it's great that he's out there roaming in his old stomping grounds. And even though he coughed up a couple of runs, Tonkin DID strike out 5 batters in only 2 innings. And Funderburk is pitching well. But yeah, other than that, another depressing game, compounded by the injury to Correa.
  22. the article said: Willi Castro pitched once the game reached the proper MLB-state-approved run difference. Is there actually such a thing now as a "proper run difference" for a position player to pitch?! And if so, what is the number?
  23. The Mets? Wasn't he with the Yankees in spring training? What happened? All these transactions are making my head spin!
