    Imagine having a healthy Royce Lewis for a complete season?! Let's hope that becomes the new normal. Twins fans will salivate at that actually happening, while opposing teams will quake in their shoes. This guy is for real!

    A healthy and productive Prielipp would be a very, very good thing! Speaking of him, when is he slated to start pitching again?

    Good article, Theo! It sounds like Jay Jackson has the right attitude and mindset, and is making some adjustments to make his pitches more effective. His short stint with the Twins was obviously disappointing, but hopefully some positive innings in St. Paul will put him back on the big team's radar. If he stays healthy and pitches well in AAA, he might be needed again this season. It seems like he will be ready. I know it's a cliche, but it's it's true: you can never have enough arms.

    Good for him. I assume he will be used as a starter ... or not?

    Not a transaction, but Dylan Floro has been pitching very well for Washington so far this season. In 31 innings out of the bullpen he has struck out 24 batters, but only walked 9. And his ERA is a tidy 1.15

    Yep, Joe Ryan has been the most consistent starter for the team. Okay, Jax has pitched well in the bullpen too, and he would deserve a spot, but I think if the teams were picked today, Ryan would be our lone All-Star rep.

    You gotta hit the ball and score runs to win games. The Twins ain't doing that lately. Sure, some of Rocco's moves are head scratchers, but he didn't lose these games, The hitters need to wake up, pay more attention, or make the adjustments needed to put the ball in play ... but not double plays. Urrgghhh!!!

    This may be slightly off topic, but Glunn mentioned the obvious starting pithing woes of late, and with Tampa Bay coming up on our schedule soon, that reminded me of how they somehow, miraculously, turned Zack Littell into a pretty good starting pitcher. What are the odds that the Twins can pluck someone out of our bullpen and turn them into a better than average starter? And who would it be? For several years many posters have gone back and forth on the merits of turning Duran back into a starter, but other than him, who else might be a target? Or is this just a crazy idea?

    I think you are correct in that notion. Seems as if this newfangled list is another way to rotate players in and out of the rosters without any penalty.

    And no doubt that pitching in New York City is not good for anyone's mental health.

    A very good pitching performance by Jose Olivares for Fort Myers. I realize it's early days, but what's the outlook for him?

    Yes to that idea. One of those guys will certainly bring a lot more back than trying to unload someone like Farmer or Vasquez. But back to the outfield, or DH types, we definitely have more bodies than we need. Time to make some moves.

    You could be right. It seems as if the lineup needs an extra tweak or two in order to become more of a force.

    I don't think this team is a mess by any means. Plenty of good players who can turn into GREAT players some days. But I would agree that the Twins need to up their game if they want to consistently defeat the top-tier teams. We aren't at that level yet.

    Yeah, sorry see both Ohl and Soto struggling in their starts. Hope they can turn it around in June.

    Tyler Wells of the Orioles to have "season ending" surgery with a torn UCL. Yet to be determined if this will require TJ surgery or not.

    What is the reason that E-Rod hasn't played for the Wind Surge since last Sunday?

    You pretty much said it: the cost in prospect capital and the inherent risks associated with relievers make this a gamble that the Twins must consider carefully. I would so no to this idea, not only because it would cost the Twins several valuable prospects, but our history of acquiring relief pitchers is mixed to mediocre. A tempting idea, but I wouldn't be too tempted.

    Seeing Doncon's name appear more often in these articles lately, and hopefully that's a good sign. Looks like he may be the real keeper from that Dodgers trade.

    Thanks for that information. Yes, my assumption was most definitely off base! Here's hoping that he actually does get a better handle on his control .

    I'm wondering the same thing. He had been pitching well, and now on this weird new "list." And yes, Nowlin is catching my eye too. Seems like his control is better this year, or am I the one off base?

    On June 11, 1986, Anderson made his major league debut with the Minnesota Twins against the Texas Rangers. It was excellent. He pitched an unheard-of (at least by today’s standards) 10 innings, giving up single runs in the 1st and 3rd innings before settling in and holding Texas scoreless for the rest of his outing. Unfortunately, he was matched up against the rubber-armed knuckleballer, Charlie Hough. Hough went 13 innings and gave up only two runs. Wow! That is absurdly wonderful! Not only that Anderson pitched 10 innings --in his MLB debut! ---but old Charlie went out and pitched 13 innings! I realize that is a great example of old school baseball, but I can't remember another game when both starters pitched more than 10 innings. Calling all researchers out there: how often was this done?
