I don't know exactly why I decided to join Twins Daily, but for the past few years I have been gradually learning about baseball by osmosis from my rabidly fanatical Twins fan siblings. Day in and day out I have heard of baseball this and baseball that, so that the baseball announcers no longer sound like they are speaking in Greek to me and I am thrown into the depths of despair for about two seconds when I hear that the Twins have lost yet another game. ;)

I believe what truly first attracted me to the game was watching the outfielders in the recap of Francisco Liriano's no-hitter - to me they looked as fascinating as ballet dancers! I have not yet attended a game at Target Field, but I have one thing up on my siblings - I have been to the Metrodome. Where, as my siblings say, "History happened." :)

Welcome to the fray! There is no turning back now! Read and learn here ... there are some awesome baseball minds. Not me, but everyone else! :)

Definitely been a long time lurker.  I've always loved baseball and the Twins, so I love reading articles and discussions on here.  I grew up in the recent golden age of Twins, so I loved the success so the recent struggles have definitely been hard.  I can see the light at the end of the tunnel though with the young talent and new manager, and I can't wait to see where this season and the seasons to follow take them.  I'm definitely looking forward to joining in on some great discussion here.

New member here!

I used post at Twinkietown back in the day before I got tired of a lot of the members over there. But I've been following Nick, Parker, Seth, and John since before they started Twins Daily. I finally talked myself into joining... I was worried being a member would kill my productivity both at work and in my personal life.

Well, yes, it will kill your productivity ... but we are glad to have you! Welcome! :)

We've had a lot of new posters lately, so I thought it time to resurrect this thread. I just wanted to say welcome to everyone who is new to posting here at TD and hope you enjoy the site. If you have 'newbie' questions, feel free to ask in this thread or check things out in the MinnCentric forum; questions you may have may have already been asked and answered there. And take a glance at our site rules and comment policy. It's a great site ... the best for Twins Talk, as far as I'm concerned ... so enjoy!

Umm, TD has been a daily haunt of mine for the last couple of years. Think I linked to it from MLBTR many years ago, and been hooked ever since.

Not sure why I didn't create a user.

Always been a big stat nerd (when I was 5 I'd go to a ball game and tell everybody who would listen, some who wouldn't, just about every stat you could find on Kirby's baseball cards. By the time I was 10 I had read "150 Years of Baseball" cover to cover about 5 times). Always been interested in our farm system, and projecting our future.

So obviously if I like advanced stats & insightful articles on our farm system, the Star Tribune was the way to go.

It's good to have you aboard.  We can never have enough stat mavens.

Yes we can. But that's okay. He's welcome aboard anyway! ;)

Any thoughts on signing Catcher John Hicks to add depth... he seems like he can hit for average... OR are we done with guys named Hicks... Aaron traded and Dalton available for Rule 5

There might be a thread or two out there on this :)

Welcome to the site.  Tell us a bit about yourself.  I've got one of those hankies in a box somewhere.

I'm fairly new to the site, I was looking around trying to find some answers to questions and enjoyed reading the threads that it's now become more of a daily read for me. Now that I've graduated and moved back to the cities, I'm trying to get back into the prospect/statistic junkie I used to be. Maybe someone can help me out with Spring Training being the not-too-distant future, but I'm trying to get a handle of what players on the 40-man rosters have options left. This information seems difficult to find.

As far as I can tell.. Santana, Nunez, Arcia, and Tonkin are out of options. Vargas and Pressley have 1.

Do Rosario, Buxton, Sano, Duffey, Park, Graham, May, Kepler have all 3?  Anyone I'm missing?

If someone has a source they use or could provide some insight, it'd be greatly appreciated!

If you go to the front page (click on 'Articles'), on that same menu bar to the right are two clickable headers ... 'Organization Chart' and 'Roster & Payroll.' I think you can find some of this there ... although I don't know when they were last updated.

Welcome to the site. If you have any questions about the site, feel free to post them here or in the MinnCentric forum. If you want to start a discussion or have baseball questions, feel free to start a discussion thread in one of the three baseball forums (Twins Talk, Minor League or Other Baseball); or for other sports or off-topic things, check out the Sports Bar forum.

Welcome cmoss, hope to hear from you more. Our Head Moderator is from California.............we don't hold it against him either.

I think him being from California is way down on the list of issues concerning the head moderator.

I think the head moderator is way down at the bottom of any list of issues.

California is a great state to be from.

When you factor in war, pestilence, famine...

In all seriousness, to the new posters, the moderators do a great job including the head moderator.

There are a lot of different opinions and personalities here and they are pretty adept at maintaining the balance of allowing debate and various opinions but preventing a thread from devolving into just a lot of negative comments and bickering.

I.............was.......... just.............kidding.....

Oh, I totally figured that.  I'm just saying, I think it's a great place to be FROM.  I, personally, wouldn't want to live there now unless I was very rich and lived in Carmel :-)
