Things to Think About:

 

1. Think about Clete Thomas... He's been playing CF everyday because... Well I guess because there was nobody else who could play CF. Then Wilken Breaks a Bone... Gets DL'ed and back to the majors after a long injury lay off is Mr. Mastrioanni. You'd figure that it would signal the end of the CF everyday for Clete Thomas... But... Surprise... Thomas is in CF and Mastro is in RF.

 

2. Think About Yu Darvish... He throws 87 different pitches and 75 of them are nasty. The Top Strikeout Pitcher in the American League facing one of the top Strikeout teams in the American League. This doesn't set up well.

 

3. Think about Liam Hendriks... He Throws abut 2 different pitches and none of them are nasty. He's the guy who has to keep it close so the Twins can create a run or two to steal this one. Stranger things have happened.

 

4. Think about Jurickson Profar... He was the Byron Buxton of last year... The Top prospect in all of baseball last year. The Rangers have kept him with the club all year and moved him around from 2B to 3B to SS to a little OF and tonight he is the DH. It's one of the strangest debut years for a prospect of his magnitude I've ever seen. A little Ron Washington Creatvity.

 

5. Think about the Twins... I was talking with a friend who said the Twins are the Laughing Stock of baseball. I stopped and thought about the term "Laughing Stock"........ Laughing Stock... The Twins are Cows with a sense of humor.

Actually he's right.

I play poker online, and my screen name has the Twins in it, and honestly I can't tell you how often I join a table or a tournament and get reminded about how much of a joke our team is. It is in the thousands by now.

Can someone please remind me again how none of our failures have anything to with Gardy?

 

Even if you are not given much talent to work with, wouldn't a good manager make sure he maximizes whatever strengths they DO have?

If there was ever a time to bet your retirement on a sporting event, it's now.

 

To get what, 5% return on investment? Haven't looked, but can't imagine the oddsmakers wanting to reward anyone too richly betting on the favorite in this game.

This is why I am in the midst of a divorce, have disowned the entirety of my family, and have started taking my meds again as I don't want my other personality popping up and telling me...

If I was Darvish I'd tell the catcher to drop the third strike a few times in the early innings so I could get 5 K's per inning. I might have 20 by the 6th inning or so.

I was going to say Arnold Schwarzenegger, but if my memory serves me correct those kindergarteners ended up adoring him at the end of that awful movie from the early 90's.
