5 Questions Walker Jenkins Must Answer in September

For September I'd at least start by asking him to hit a HR that is not off of a position player who got lost and wandered onto the mound.

We all know that time will tell about Jenkins, but  my money is on Captain America.

I care about all that stuff in the longer term. I think the only one that matters right in September is playing and staying fully healthy. After that, I do think we might learn A LITTLE about how he’ll look in center.

All the hitting stuff mentioned are things he struggled with in AAA for a while, and then improved. I expect it will take some time in the majors, as well.

It will not matter a lick what position Buxton plays regarding his availability. At age 29 he barely made 80 games as a DH. Next year he’s 33. There has always been SOMETHING. So the assumption should be exactly that wherever they plan to use him.

I expect Buxton will play CF when he is available and that is fine. That should give Jenkins 80-100 games in CF if he can stay healthy (or schedule his injuries around Buxton’s). I expect they will need a third OF to cover 30-40 games in CF.

Just so long as they don't coordinate their injuries like Bader and Buxton did.... I mean, like Tom Pohlad scheduled IL slots.

Buxton moving to a corner OF will extend his career, how? You think he will magically not get injured? That's right, move your best CF (a comment) defender now! Such idiocy; if you moved Buxton to DH, that might extend his career. Buxton bats poorly as DH.

So tonight for dinner I'm going to make a pretty basic salad with cherry tomatoes, and then chicken thighs. Typically I like to add mostly just salt and pepper, but bake them for about 12 minutes and then flip and then bake for another 12 minutes. A nice glass of red wine with it, and then have some music playing. Should be lovely, those are easy and it turns out ok.

I don't hate that the Twins game will be on for me at 11:40am local time. And hopefully Jenkins and the rest of the team play well and stay healthy.
