This team doesn't value the bunt as a team so they don't work on it in the minor leagues or in the major leagues.  Analytics does not value the bunt, but teams like Milwaukee will still do it and use analytics.  It is possible to do both.

He does have a career average of .174, I would not expect the short sample size of this year to continue.

I never fully understood why the Twins didn’t try to sign Mahle off his injury season. I believe he was a free agent at that point and they probably just couldn’t meet his salary demands or they were hesitant because of him coming off the surgery. I don’t think they ever considered it.
