That's a challenge from a guy who doesn't know how to use the challenge. Had to be the pitcher not Vazquez.

AHH it was Vazquez! You know better than that sir

Confidence building inning for Zebby but very very long. He won't get to the fifth at this pitch count rate.

Been traveling for a couple days.

I imagine nothing has happened roster-wise?

Imagine if you went traveling the last week of July last year and missed what happened then!

Maybe sending guys to single A gives them a message, maybe not. Are the problems for Lewis and Wallner attitude or is it something else. I don't believe it is best to rub noses in it although maybe it makes fans feel better about themselves. I don't see any reason why both players can't reset in St. Paul facing the closest thing to major league pitching.

Listening to MLB walking the dogs today and the discussion was about holding young talent down in the minors… many teams are bringing their high performers up earlier with the belief that they will not develop further at AAA because the pitching isn’t as good as was even a few years ago. A lot of GM’s believe you don’t get better facing 1 MLB caliber arm every 4-5 days. With that, both Lewis and Wallner could look good, doesn’t guarantee it will translate to this team. IM0 both have been given every opportunity, Wallner especially, throw in his defensive limitations and I just don’t see it. Lewis… maybe, he looked so good in ‘23, but his time is running out. Holding back up and coming talent to wait and see if they can get their sh** together is getting old., just my two cents.

Drone shot showed there are about 5000 people at tonight’s game. I’m a little worried about Martin and Lee. Both seem to be regressing.

I have called Martin the new Castro, maybe in too many ways.

I doubt it’s anything attitude related for either one of them. As Plouffe said in the Skor North Twins podcast, sending them to Florida changes their environment. Before the agreement with the Saints to be the AAA affiliate, players at least were sent to Rochester, NY to change up their routine. Lewis and Wallner currently are living at the same place, same routine, etc. all that has changed is driving on I-94 west to St Paul instead of Minneapolis.

Has anything truly changed for Wallner or Lewis? The fans and media can both follow them easily to St Paul and continue to micromanage their performances. Sending them to FL allows a true reset and out of daily local media coverage.

and maybe for Lewis, working on expanding his fielding to 1st base

Let him work on his hitting right now, that is enough to put on his plate.  There is no replacement for him at 3B if he comes back.  Let's wait until somebody displaces him from 3B before there is talk about moving people around.  I mean Culpepper may not even be up here until 2028 because you have to make sure he is ready and that probably won't happen until he is at least 25 or 26 years old.

A disturbing trend for sure. Only the Dodgers can spend enough to overcome a horrid prospect development program.

Plouffe also mentioned the White Sox SS Colson Montgomery story when he was sent to extended spring training for exclusively 1 on 1 coaching to figure it out. I’d rather both Wallner and Lewis doing that vs. facing inferior AAA pitching.

I also thought there was an Astros hitter who did the same thing last year as well, but for the life of me cannot remember who it was.

Someone might want to let Zoll in on this little secret in relation to Culpepper.

I nominate Trevor Plouffe for our next G.M.    Guy is smart speaks his mind -- needed here
