Caratini and Jackson will be the two catchers for the near future. Not sure anyone 'wants' Jeffers traded - it is just that it feels inevitable at this point. Speaking for myself, I'll be sad to see him go. stringer bell, HarmonK03, Church of Kreidler and 2 others 5

I like his stuff. It would be nice to see him work in a sinker/slider/sweeper type of pitch, but he's very effective with the three pitches he has. Twins_Fan_in_NJ 1

He is a veteran guy with experience, and has been hitting and fielding well at Triple-A. Do I think he will do the same thing with the Twins? No, but it's a huge upgrade over Lewis. Being an upgrade over Lewis is a low bar the way he is currently playing. I know Arcia is playing well but will that translate to anything more than he has done the last couple of years. On this roster we now have two AAAA utility players and one veteran utility player that is on the downside of his career. Even if this translates to one or two more wins this year, how does this help the team today or in the future. Is Culpepper really that far off from being ready to being called up. Let's not wait for the perfect timing. And if Lewis finds himself that is a good problem to have. I am afraid we are going to be stuck with Arcia, Gray and Kreidler because if I recall correctly they would need to be DFA'd if they are moved off the active roster. The recent history of this organization is they get nervous about not having enough depth so moving off of any of those players will be very difficult and a slow process. hitterscount and Vanimal46 2

Chris Hove Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 19 Posted May 19 (edited) A lot of moves are happening today. If you haven't seen or heard. Here's what's going on -Royce Lewis optioned to Triple-A -Twins purchased the contract of Orlando Arcia and will be added to the 40-Man roster - RHP Justin Topa has been DFA, a corresponding move is likely to come soon - Also, C Ryan Jeffers will be placed on IL with a fractured left hamate bone. Alex Jackson will be called up. -Garrett Acton moved to 60-day IL to clear a 40- man spot for Travis Adams, who will also be recalled. Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted May 19 Posted May 19 I am curious with Jeffers out, how much worse are we going to be with ABS challenges? Jeffers is a key cog in our challenge success rate so far. Church of Kreidler and Chris Hove 2
HarmonK03 Verified Member Posted May 19 Posted May 19 It doesn't look like they are interested in bringing up Bowman if they recalled Adams. Today would be the day to do it as they need arms that can pitch tonight. Vanimal46 1

Lewis is down bad, Arcia will be a slight upgrade, and he's only 2 years removed from an All-Star season. The Twins are doing Twins things, keeping their top guys down and bandaging up their other spots with temporary guys. Not sure if they think KC is ready, but Arcia isn't terrible. IMO I hope you are correct about Arcia because this roster doesn't have me real excited and I was hoping for some move that would generate a little buzz.

Arcia will be good for a while, he knows this could be his last shot…. I think he will provide solid AB’s , but eventually he he will come down to the means…. a .230 hitter that is on the decline with defense and his overall game. If Cullpepper keeps producing at AAA he needs to be brought up, he’s clearly a guy that could be an everyday player who’s young and the future.
Chris Hove Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Klein and Lawyerson should be the next two up, assuming Lawyerson completes his rehab. Goodbye to Ortiz and Gomez. Vanimal46 1

I think it is being very optimistic hoping for a .230 batting average, I am thinking he will be closer to the rest of the lineup right around .200. Danchat 1
