I just noticed now that they have Martin in RF, where he hasn't played much & doesn't have the arm & Larnach. who is a much inferior OFer. in LF; I fail to see the logic

If you look at the dimensions of Rogers Centre.  There is slightly less ground to cover in RF.  This may help Martin with a weaker arm.  I would also suggest that Martin's speed will help Buxton cover for Larnach in LF.

Do you know nothing about jinxes???  Keep that hand raised until conditions change for the worse.

I speculated in a different thread, but if you have two mediocre arms in the corners, it may be best to just give up on the right fielder having any effect on runners rounding second when the ball is hit out there, and put the slightly better arm in left to deter the extra base on balls hit there.  Making the best of a bad lot.

Or, it's just that with a righty on the mound for the Twins, they want the faster corner outfielder in right to try to combat the lefties in the opposing lineup.

Martin succeeded on his challenge.  The Gameday diagram shows it to be very close.  With two outs and nobody on, not my preference, but if it works, it works.

Makes sense.  Maybe given both have mediocre arms, you give the weaker fielder the position that he is most comfortable playing.  I know that Larnach has played more RF than Martin.  If you consider Larnach the weaker fielder, it may make more sense playing him in the position he is more comfortable playing.

The Caratini one was by a stitch also.

This is why Shelton earns the big bucks, to make these extremely clear distinctions.

For some reason i was expecting symmetry... But then i might be confusing it with the bilateral leg weakness of a few decades ago.

Your dubiousness led me to look it up.

Right x2.

If you keep it up too long, the numbers start to get straight again!

(7, 11, 71, etc)

Round numbers, even perfectly round ones, are okay too, if preceded by a straight number.

Great job by Larnach drawing the walk.  A great job by Lauer as well in giving the Jays some length after the disastrous 3rd inning.

He had Mr Sub last night

 He knows better.

Is that Shelton making such a distinction?
