I don’t have much interest in any of the 1st round matchups to be honest. I’ll be shocked if Tulane and James Madison University aren’t blown out tomorrow

Tulane will keep their game closer than Bama.   This is not a good team

Not often you see a take age so poorly so quickly.  I don't see Tulane losing by less than negative ten

Glad Tulane and James Madison got their shot. The complaining from ND and power 5 schools that miss out is grating. It's not like they were a top four team and missed out, they are arguing about being the 12th best team. Boo hoo.

I mean, why are Tulane and James Madison and even Ball State fielding a team if they have absolutely nothing to ever play for?

Not for nothing, but pretty much every metric had ND as a top 5-7 team by the end of the year.  They struggled badly on defense the first 2.5 games with a new coordinator, but rounded into form pretty quickly after that.  It just so happened that their two toughest opponents were their first two games.

As for why lower teams should field teams, in the current iteration of college football, they probably shouldn't.  The CFP appearance is nice and all, but even if the entry requirements stayed the same, I doubt either gets back again any time soon.  Is getting blown out in a road game once every 15-20 years really a good prize for those small teams?

The only thing that could actually save college football right now is some kind of commissioner that is empowered to actually enforce rules, including a death penalty.  Pair that with two 64 team divisions that feature promotion and relegation (maybe not every year, but every 2-3), along with some semblance of revenue share, and you're in business.

This weekend wasn't exactly a ringing endorsement for expansion of CFP. The Tulane and JMU games were unwatchable.

That's why it should be expanded--Ole Miss against ND and Oregon against BYU is much, much better.  If you're not going to expand, you at least need to give up the farce of including conference champions based on no other metric, or at least require a conference champion to rank in the CFP top 20 or something like that.

I stand corrected. Oklahoma is choking big time

They ain't called Choke-lahoma for nothing.  A defense-driven team losing by 10 after leading by 17 is embarassing.

To use your logic with Kwesi, 82-12 record.

I lived in Oklahoma for a while and I couldn't believe how many Sooners fans hated Bob Stoops and wanted him gone.

I missed almost all of the college bowl games this year but it seems like Arch Manning had a heck of a game. I know he isn't in the draft, but where is it in comparison to the three likely first rounders?

I'd guess Mendoza, Manning, Moore go top three in that order?

Indiana, wow.

Yeah, I thought they were going to lose to the tide and then hear about how the BIG10 can't match up with the SEC.
