Missed Toronto win.  Was traveling to Twin Cities.

It was quiet last night in the thread  , 5 posts and I had 3 of them  ...

I figured everyone went bowling  or they just aren't interested in Seattle  / Toronto series  , we'll find out later  tonight if there is interest when they play ...

Milwaukee has to win this , It's a must must must  win as that kid would say during the twins game  ( i cant remember his name but the most positive twins fan )

The Cubs would have made this NLCS more interesting. Brewers gonna get swept

I hope it gets somewhat competitive  , in the playoffs i hate the sweeps , unless of course it's our twins that do the sweeping , it's going to be sometime before that happens but who knows  , maybe Outman will out perform and lead us to the promise land ( NOT )

The ALCS is way more intriguing of a series IMO

Yeah, would've been nice to have both leagues put out a good series....but the Dodgers are just a payroll juggernaut.

I don't anticipate the World Series being much better unless the RNG gods of baseball playoffs decide to get involved.

I tend to lean towards picking a college pitcher with the Twins early draft pick. The potentiol to have an impact starter like Misiorowski or even Yesavage for the Blue Jays up within a couple of years is too much for me to pass up. Misiorowski has elite stuff, and could very well be a generational talent.

Misiorowski was a Round 2 pick (#63) and Yesavage was a Round 1 (#20) pick. The draft is difficult to project. Paul Skenes was a consensus #1 pick but the general rule is to pick the best player regardless of position. From there it is a little bit of luck and a lot of development. I'm hoping the Twins pick a Robin Yount or Dave Winfield clone. Then again, I'm greedy.

$550 mill payroll with the luxury tax. If people don’t think a lockout is happening in 2027 I have ocean front property in Iowa to sell them

I don’t know if I like or dislike the home teams losing like they’ve been. LA won tonight and the place was rocking. These ALCS games (and the first two nlcs) are like funerals for the home crowd

Iowa is a scary place.

That aside, most MLB owners are making money. Only the Atlanta Braves books are available because they are a publicly traded corporation. Thus it is hard to know how the owners will vote. It was the owners who gave the Dodgers special financial considerations in the first place which created their current empire, back when the Dodgers filed for bankruptcy in the manner that many corporations do. There are likely a few franchises losing money but none will open the books. Do you think the owners making money, which is the majority, will vote to cast away their profits in an attempt to crush the MLBPA? That doesn't seem how billionaires operate to me. I expect quite a bit of posturing with talking heads making public pronouncements about this and that. A lockout that wipes out games in April seems possible, but I really doubt there are any moves that endanger baseball later than that. Rich people never have enough money. Slaughtering a golden goose never creates more wealth.

You can keep the keep the land in Iowa but don't bother planting soybeans in the next 10 years. The farmers  bet on the wrong horse.

When I was writing , my thought was a concert at Target field because you miss your twins baseball so much that you just had to walk on the same turf of our players and get some sort of vibe ....
