Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 A rotating cast of Twins Daily contributors live-streamed the 2025 MLB trade deadline. Unbeknownst to them when they started, they were about to witness the dismantling of the Minnesota Twins in real time. Blyleven2011 Verified Member Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 The pohlads , front office , manager and coaches have just surpassed Calvin Griffith as the worst owners, front office , manager and coaches .... This should go into the genius book of records for deadline trading ... Ive never seen anything like it , its ridiculous , I'm still sorting it out as I had a busy day ... nclahammer, David HK, Fezig and 2 others 5
David HK Verified Member Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 Oh, what a charmed life-- I went to sleep the night before around 1:30 AM Hong Kong time, when the Boston game was still a game, Zebby was pitching OK, and the Twins were still a major-league franchise. And I wake up thankful that the Pohlad family can now meet the payments on that 3rd yacht they've had their eye on. What an unholy mess. What a 💩show that Boston game turned into- a sad, sad display of hubris and needless drama. I'm tempted to say that Jax was traded because of what went down, and it's all Rocky's fault. This team has shown from the top down that they just don't give a rip about the fans what-so-ever, and now they've shown they don't give a flying eff about the players, either. Does anyone really think that any pending free agents are going to be chomping at the bit to join this clown-run circus? If only the owners could be sent off like the players are. terrydactyls Verified Member Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 I'm still trying to absorb all that happened today. I may have to pay homage to Rocco and create a spreadsheet to figure it all out. But in general, I see three types of trades: those that make sense, those that boggle the mind, and those that are in between. Make sense: Trading Duran, and Correa. I don't like the return but I understand the reasoning. Boggle my mind: Trading both Jax and Varland. Just one of them would have moved this to Makes Sense. I don't like the return here either. In Between: Trading Bader, Castro, France, Coulombe, and Stewart. They got what they could. But what I'm really anxious to see is what the 26-man roster looks like at game time tomorrow. I hope a bunch of guys in their early 20's are on the roster. nclahammer, TwinsDr2021, UpstateNewYorker and 1 other 3 1
Fezig Verified Member Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 It's not often that you'll get a consensus from the media, but... every site I've seen have categorized the Twins, the Twins fans, and the still rostered players, as the biggest losers in the trade deadline deals. I didn't think it possible but the Twins have surpassed the Vikings Herschel Walker trade in regard to worst MN trades ever. Blyleven2011 and David HK 1 1
JBK Verified Member Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 As a lifelong fan, I get disheartened when the Twins lose. But I'm always optimistic the next day that they can win. But this dismantling? How are we supposed to support a team whose leadership DOES NOT CARE? Did they cut the ticket prices too? Is the next home series free to the fans as a way to say sorry? If you cut and don't care, make sure the ticket prices are commensurate to the product on the field. How did Rocco survive this? nclahammer, David HK and TwinsDr2021 3
nclahammer Verified Member Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 It was unbelievable to watch the last hour of the trade deadline on the Twins Daily livestream with real the trades announced in "real time." The incredulous and shocked responses and reactions were amazing because no one predicted changes to this extent and to witness it all happening "live" was surreal and my head was and still is still spinning. I encourage you to watch the video and see/hear the reactions for yourself. Amazing. Wowzers TD...well done. David HK and Lou Hennessy 2
