I only mocked him because he was supposed to be a pitching guru. People talked Falvey up like  he was some Ivy League Analytics guru early on. He hasn't been anything special as President of baseball operations. Pretty average to middling really from a draft perspective.

No relation.  I love baseball and Rod Carew.  I lived in Mason City, Iowa as a kid and saw two games a year at the Met if I was lucky.  I listened to a lot of games on the radio and we played a lot of Strat-o-matic.

Well...the Balco evidence is pretty overwhelming including his signature and the loads of people who state otherwise....just sad to see it...I was excited when he set the record...same with mcGuire...I was so sad also to see Rose reach the Hall only after he died. He deserved better. If you have never been to see the BSB hall of fame...GO..it is fantastic and much better than those for FB and BSKetball

Big percentage of guys playing then used including pitchers. League loved the excitement of the long ball. Lots of players in 50’s 60,s and seventies were using uppers.
