I had my whole family over to watch the game. They’re all fans too. We all just laughed and laughed and cursed and laughed. We’ve seen this a million times.

Someone has to explain what happened to Sam darnold. I watched that guy make a series of unbelievable throws to win the Seattle game. And has a few clutch passes to beat the packers.

Someone has to explain the last two weeks. How does a guy completely and utterly lose all his confidence so quickly and severely?

I think he should be reading AJ Brown’s reading materials.

Is it considered “Minnesota Nice” to let teams like LA and New Orleans win big games after their city has suffered unimaginable natural disasters?

I definitely underestimated how much the wildfire stuff was going to be the story, and subsequently how much the rams were going to draw off if it. I come away feeling like the Vikings really never had a chance coming in to this game.

Only thing I could say was that this was supposed to be their home game. Even had their logo on the field.

KFAN guys already doing their thing: “how dare you suggest KOC pull Darnold out of the game”

I just don’t get the media in this market.

In a way, I understand, even as someone who suggested it. It wasn’t changing anything. That sequence late in the second quarter was catastrophic and decided the game.

My son believes KOC is not all that, and his record and performance in playoff games may prove him right... There is zero reason for Sam to be there

KOC is 1-5 in games played in the month of January (4 regular season, 2 playoff).  He’s been outscored 173-108, which is more or less 29-18.  I’ve been saying it for weeks—KOC has not yet proven he is an upper tier NFL HC (or OC for that matter), and it’s beyond time we stop assuming he is.

Yeah, whenever something bad happens, you poke your head out and say "i told you so." I mean, 6 games out of 53 is the deciding factor. Amazing analysis.

My wife and I were just joking that no men's Minnesota team has won it all since we started dating

Well you know what to do, then.

Well, rough way to end it but a really nice season.

I will say this about Darnold, at least he won't throw to the checkdown on 4th and 8.

No, he’ll run backwards 12 yards after holding the ball for 5 seconds, and then take a sack.  And maybe fumble.  Much better.

Oh, and just for fun—why did offensive genius Kevin O’Connell call a play with a checkdown on 4th and 8?

I’ve been here all year buddy.  Anytime you want to admit I was right to question the ability of this team to win in the playoffs you go right ahead.

Those 6 games include the only 2 that matter—a start to finish loss to a not-good Giants team that got ROLLED the next week, and has been possibly the worst team in the NFL since then, and tonight’s utter throttling at the hands of a team that had scored 44 points in the last 3 games it took seriously.

Keep thinking KOC is the answer, when all he’s proven is that he can beat a bunch of mediocre to bad teams, and then get lit up just about anytime he plays an actual championship-level team.

Wrong!!! The NFL/AFL merger didn't happen until the 1970 season. The Vikings won the NFL championship in 1969 which was only later retconned to include both leagues!!!!!

But they lost the next week to the Chiefs in Super Bowl IV, so I don't see how that counts.

You haven't been here all year, but, sadly, you're likely to be here all off-season, harping again.

To keep it civil - which is very difficult - I'll just say that your views are solidly in the minority for a reason and I hope you step on a lego.

I mean, probably, but you never know. Mullins at least would be willing to sling it. Sticking with Darnold was a sure failure.

I guess KOC gets some credit for speaking about Darnold in the past tense in his post game?

Believe it or not, the Super Bowl wasn't as big a deal back then as it is today. It was really the Chiefs win and, especially, Nameth's (sp) win in Super Bowl's 3 and 4 (and the merger after 4) that made it bigger. I don't think it was even called the super bowl at first.

That's what I don't get. The Cardinals game was similar, he was taking sacks and the OL was stinking, but the 4th quarter comes around and Sam suddenly starts hitting his open receivers and they complete the comeback. The Packers game was a huge matchup and he seemed completely fine, and tore up their secondary. I'm not shocked he turned back into a pumpkin, but I am also confused as to why there weren't more warning signs before the Lions game.

Even though Seattle didn’t make the playoffs, the Vikings NEVER win there. And he went on that drive after falling behind, and hit dimes.

He had that couple game blip mid season, but that’s every quarterback in the league.

if I had to guess, I would say he was totally stripped of his confidence in that lions game. Totally afraid to make the bad throw. He was terribly indecisive tonight. He didn’t even throw the one sceeen that was set up well
