The Vikings are 2-2 in converting third downs today already, which I think is the equivalent of the Twins batting with RISP

So... If the Vikings stop getting 1st downs, the Twins will start scoring runs?

They're more than 2 minutes down in time of possession, and about to return the ball to the Texas Houstons.

The Gold Glove first baseman needs to play that grounder more aggressively, he has made a lot of great plays, but he has also cost runs.  And today he cost us three runs.

He was a long, long way from the baseline and made one hesitation step.  A ball that hits the bag sucks but it was a slight misread at worst, not lack of aggression.

Way to show up, Twins.

Way to show up, Lopez.

Way to show up, Rocco.

Rocco lol. He puts out the best possible lineup with his ace pitcher and gets the call from the ump.

You Rocco people..

Good news. Vikings punted. Let's see if the Twins can take advantage. A touchdown would be nice.

Using the current live Fangraphs win probabilities, I have the Twins at

Retain the wildcard: 64.9%

Be in 6-seed: 38%

Be in 5-seed: 26.9%

Maybe if the Royals only win one more game this season.. which would really be a shame honestly.

I'm only calculating the chance that the Twins are in that position at the end of  today. I don't know about the rest of the season. I don't have a Monte Carlo simulator in my spreadsheet. (Just edited my post to make that more clear...it wasn't very clear.)

If there was "one hesitation step"  Does that not imply a lack of aggressiveness?  It was a tough play. I thought he took a bad angle as it wasn't hit real hard.  It's a moot point. Casas is a one man wrecking crew today.
