Am I an ass if I notice that Royce has been in the middle of key plays in the last two games and things haven't worked out.. on the throw to first last night. Being thrown out today. And in two potential game winning situations today at the plate.

Sure he's awesome. I won't argue that.

But if he doesn't make it happen, who else will?

I was thinking the same. But both plays could have been made. Santana could have caught the ball like he did Miranda's throw late. And tonight, it was the right play to get to third, where a wild pitch even ties it again. It was just a play by Santana that many make, including him, and a great throw today. They wouldn't have even been in the games to have these opportunities without his offense these two games, either. I love it that he is in everything. He almost ended the game in the 9th, too, with the drive to the track after Miranda's homer!

Zero problem with the tag because then he's on 3rd where a productive out gets him home.  Took a perfect throw and Siri delivered.  Tip the hat to the defense on that one.  It's not always a fault but some here think the other team isn't allowed to make plays.

No way!!! Refuse to give other team credit ever!!!  No way!!! Twins need to be Minnesota mean not nice and blow teams out of water!!!

Oh he will surely win more than lose for the team. And exciting. I'm glad he's back.

You could watch the Rickwood Field game.  I doubt the Twins will get much/if any coverage during that event.

Not after twins loss-this will ating/hurt for long time-only way to make up for this is 9-0 road trip then win all games at home!!!

If the Twins are smart they will follow league rules.  There are exceptions and maybe Varland's case is one, and they can do it. But ordinarily a pitcher must stay in the minors 15 days after being sent down.

I'm unclear on the exact details of his being brought up for one game and then for another.  His mlb.com page says he was "optioned" again on June 12, and then again on June 17, after having come up for a game each time as a "27th" player.

Also don't know that exact rule.  But I believe the 27th player doesn't count as an official callup/option.  So if you eliminate those, he could be recalled tomorrow.  Falvey could drive over to St. Paul and meet with Varland and young Gardy.  Say, "I know you want to start, Louis.  But the Twins can't afford to blow any more games.  We need you in our pen, today.  You may pitch one inning in one game and three two days later.  Next spring you will report as a starting pitcher.  In the meantime, we want to win."

Now you are just trolling. Follow the chain-saw enema with rock salt! That will do the trick.

Similar to last night's game, they make a play that essentially wins the game for them as Lewis would have scored from second on Jeffers hit.

Or from 3rd on no hit, no contact at all, but a wild pitch, which is just another opportunity that comes from extra pressure felt.

I don't know about that, Jeffers hit a rope to shallow center.

It was hard hit, but to left. The SS got a glove on it. Lewis would have had to wait until the ball got past the SS and probably doesn't score. But he then would have scored on Santana's fly ball.

If, of course, everything plays out the same.

Ground ball off the shortstop’s glove.

Ahh ha! The Cris Carter syndrome, all he does is hit touchdowns.

Can't just presume Jeffers AB has the same end result if there's a guy on second. He could have been pitched differently, etc.. You can be aggressive to a fault and I think Royce was on that play.

Is Dobnak still on the 4o or just on the checkbook? Just wondering..

Not certain but I don't think he's on the 40.

Thanks. I'm trying to envision other arms beside Varland (as well as juggling if Kepler needs to have some IL) and outside of Funderburk I'm drawing a blank.

Same. Henriquez is the only other one. Maybe Winder?

I still think that rule would be fine to start in the 12th

Doesn’t every team play with the Sam rules? We just suck in extras and have since the new rules

I take every game seriously!!! Losses especially the one run extra inning losses are the worse/ruins day when they lose and when they win its best day ever!!!

Twins losses used to ruin my days/ nights also. But with this manager and front office moves (junk pile pitching acquisitions), I don't care nearly as much anymore.  Plus not being able to watch the games make it easy to move on.

I hope the Twins get off the plane tomorrow pissed. Certainly facing 4200 hostile fans will egg them on tomorrow..

And one friendly face.
