MABB1959 Verified Member Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 Yeah for the win. Glad to see Kepler turning it around, please let it last! Correa had a great game! Was going to say sad to see Buxton struggling/slumping but maybe this is who he is now? knothole61 1

Kepler has been great since the second half last year until now (minus a crap 1-2 weeks to start the season and Correa has been amazing this year. Buxton will always have you wanting more, but he just had an impressive day yesterday. The Twins might not be the juggernaut, but they are playing tough and making this year fun to watch. wabene 1

Kind feels like he needs to start letting the ball travel more. Also, KC outscored the good guys 19-18 in the series.
SwainZag Community Moderator Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 As someone who was busy all day today. I saw the quick 2-0 hole in the 1st and wrote the boys off. I checked back and saw 4-0 with the Twins with 1 hit in the Bottom of the 4th and assumed it was over. Insanely proud of the boys resilience. Jeffers IS one of the best hitting catchers in the league, bar none. Carlos Correa is an insanely good baseball player. The injury he had last year, combined with his salary really jaded a lot of fans, but my god, he is a pleasure to watch. Not to mention he acts like such a leader, the Twins are blessed to have him...regardless of what some fans think about the money stuff. Duran has some things to work on, I don't think he's all the way back from injury, but overshadowed by that, Griffin Jax is a damn good pitcher. For those of you who have been around awhile, you can remember some fans absolutely lighting up the Twins front office by picking an Air Force guy who might not pitch for a bit. Jax went from being a borderline starter to one of the best set up guys in baseball. He is striking out 12/9 this year while hitting 97 on the gun with an ERA of 2.14 and a FIP 2.13. I know the "pipeline" of the current regime doesn't include Jax because he was drafted the summer before they took over, they have turned him into a weapon. I'm rambling. Go Twins! stringer bell and wabene 2

I saw my first game in person today and enjoyed it immensely. The weather was good, the company was excellent and the game was like a good novel, unpredictable and good to the end. Starting with the starter—Chris Paddack might benefit by being skipped in the rotation. He’s battled his last two starts, but diminished velocity and sharpness of his pitches makes it a hard slog. Durán is also down a couple of mph, making his margin for error smaller and demanding better command. To the rescue is Jorge Alcalá, who looks capable of handling high leverage situations with triple digit heat and a secondary pitch for both left handed and right handed hitters. I haven’t been a fan, but his last two outings looked dominant. The Twins won the series because they took advantage of KC miscues and won close games. The Royals currently are really good, I suspect they’ll regress some and their lack of depth will be exposed and taken advantage of later in the season. Bobby Witt Jr. is going to win lots of awards.

Would be nice if he could go a week or two being impressive. Last 7 games not so great. One game was good but he had many strikeouts this week. I really do like the guy, he was so much fun to watch in his good old days (When I could still see them on TV)
