Joe Ryan shut down the Yankees offense. Even if you ignore the big inning this team still wins the game.

I choose to believe they decided to lay off for a bit and save some runs for the rest of the series instead of continuing to pile them on.

I'd feel different for low-cost or free contests.

Yeah, okay ... was quickly posting irritation and this sets it back. However, I still don't like the position players pitching thing. I mean, the lead wasn't in double digits at that time, not sure if the rules stipulate anything, but I'd set it at 15 runs, you can pitch who want ... baseball's version of a 15-run rule.

I was unaware of the new rules, but I looked it up and it's this:

Under the new guidelines, leading teams have to be up by 10 or more runs in the ninth inning in order to let a position player pitch while trailing teams can use a position player anytime it's down by eight or more runs. Position players are also allowed to pitch anytime in extra innings.

Yeah, the 'down' team ... 8 is too few, imo.
