I do both of those. But then, I don't think just a new DC is enough to fix the defense. And certainly not their signings. I don't know if either CB picked last year makes it thru five games....

Agreed. I’d love to find a way to get back into the 2nd round. Lots of value there…

The Eagles just made the rest of the NFL look like fools. How on earth did they get Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith?

I liked Smith, but Murphy was the guy I wanted.

Smith is still awfully small. I think the issue with his size was really downplayed by the draft gurus. Reminded me of Nakobe Dean last year. Devin Lloyd should have been and ultimately was the guy the NFL teams wanted, while the talking heads liked Dean.

I know everyone else likes Porter Jr. but BJ Ojulari is the guy I'd like if they got back into the 2nd round. Tuli Tuipulotu is another guy I'd like.

The good thing about Smith landing in Philly is he will learn directly from Hassan Reddick. They’re carbon copies of each other.

Yeah man, tons of names I really like in the 2nd. Part of me wishes we could have found a trade partner at 23 and receive a couple of 2nds in return.

I like Ojulari, Trenton Simpson, and Drew Sanders for LB. O’Cyrus Torrence, Joe Tippman and John Michael Schmitz for interior OL. Porter Jr, Brian Branch, and Julius Brents at CB…

Still can't believe the Vikings didn't take the 5th and 7th the Giants gave the Bills to move up one spot. I don't get too excited about those kinds of picks these days, but the Vikings have so dang few picks this year.

On one hand, the Vikings must REALLY like Addison, because the Giants taking him from the Vikings does make sense.

On the other hand, the Vikings used up just about every second of their clock, which meant they were clearly trying to trade the pick.

They literally have zero healthy CBs right now....zero. Nada. Nil. None. Good luck!

Also, why sign Oliver and Ham and every blocker possible, if you are going to draft WR? Will Oliver even play much on 2nd or 3rd down (not near the goal line)? What an odd set of decisions in context of each other.

I'm ok with the pick. Let's have a fun offense that scores a ton and just enjoy that. Cousins replacement will certainly benefit from those weapons, as well. We'll just have to win a lot of games 35-32.  :-)

I get that, but that’s on them. Booth was a dumb pick, I know he was well regarded,  but NEVER take injury riddled DBs. DBs just cannot play through leg injuries. They’re either fully healthy, or useless.

And no other team tries to make up their backfield entirely with 1st and 2nd round  picks except the Vikes. Learn to find these guys later in the draft, like every other team does. They’re a product of the system anyway.

Schedule comes out today. NFL did the Vikings dirty in a leak that I saw.  Week 1 Sunday home against the Bucs; Week 2 Thursday night away against the Eagles. So not only get hosed with games 4 days apart at the very beginning of the season, they couldn't even let them be at home for the two games?

They are (IMO) likely to lose to the Eagles no matter when they play them. May as well get more rest after that game.....

Weird they dont play at GB or CHI in December.  Seems like they did that all the time in past years.

Except for the Bears game, the first half of that schedule is rough. The second half looks pretty doable although I'm really curious how could Detroit will be. On paper, they should finally be good. But they could easily find a few ways to be the Lions we all know and love.

I highly doubt we'll get swept by both Chicago and Detroit. I doubt we lose to the Raiders. The Chargers are beatable as long as they have Staley. With Rodgers out of Green Bay I could see the Vikings beating them twice, especially given the game at Lambeau is in late October and not in January.

Also I didn't know that we can lose a game during a bye week.

I wouldn't exactly be boasting about that as a Bears fan ... just sayin' ...

nah, just trying to joke with the board, but these are fickle topics

I think the Bears have a lot of potential with Fields, I couldn't believe he fell to us. He certainly has a lot to prove yet, and Poles (Bears GM) is making moves that at first blush seem puzzling, but after some research and digesting look pretty solid if not good. But for the rest of the division:

I very happy that GB looks to be headed to cellardome, hopefully for decades. If they find HoF QB #3 in a row .......... I dont even know why I mention it.

Detroit looks legit and solid up and down the roster save QB, but even he played well last year.

The Vikings? I feel like they are aging, but they have a pretty damn good QB (+ Jefferson) and in the NFL you are never out of it if you have that.

That we agree on. I don’t really care much about football but I consider it a good day when the Packers lose! 🙂

Zadarius and a sixth and seventh for two fifths. Not sure I get the point. But, I guess he wanted out.

Fields has more than a lot to prove. I'll believe it when I see it.
