I get most disagree with me!

I got nothing to go on here but a feeling.

Yeah, DRT isn't my choice for the 2nd round, but I don't like all the group-think that occurs with college kids and draft picks so I do like a different take.

Hey all, I've been working on my very own Mock Draft Simulator and it's currently up and running if you want to check it out. You can click here to go straight to it, or if you want to read up on the explanation of how it works, click here.

I whipped it up in the past month and a half, so it's pretty bare bones (no trading draft picks), but it uses my draft board (which you can find here). Here's a haul I just made:

Vikings Haul 2.PNG

That's pretty opposite of my preference of going hard at the defensive front seven but good take.

For those on team #TradeDown here are some options to pursue…

I like the potential trade with the Steelers for 32 and 49. The Chiefs would work too.

Just, lets not do the Lions again.

I'm not sure yet what I like I guess. The Chiefs deal does look like the best of both worlds. Still get to stay in the 1st round, and pick up two additional picks.

Haha, I hate to say it but I like that trade too. Though I don’t think the Lions will want to pay 3 1st round picks at the same time.

CBS sports put together three Trey Lance trades for the Vikings, none involving 1st round picks.

Might be interested unless this same equity could be used to get Richardson.

Who admittedly is this year’s version of Trey Lance.

The track record for teams trading away 1st round QBs after giving up on them is very bad, and even if Lance does pan out, we only have 2 cheap years of control and then the 5th year option, and we may not know if we'd want to extend him the 5th year option the year prior.

If Shanahan is giving up on him, then I'm out. But if you can get him on the cheap, OK, fine. I'd rather draft a rookie in the 1st round... just don't reach on one. They don't have to land one this year.

He has Purdy... Is he really giving up on him, or adding assets? That said, I have no idea if I want him.

Is Purdy going to play in 2023? I have no idea what the timeline is to throw a football vs. baseball (12-18 months) after Tommy John.

The Kirk to San Fran rumor is so old it is attending Kindergarten in the fall. But maybe now the timeline lines up for it to make sense. San Fran has the roster to win a SB right now. Kirk could be their 1 year stop gap which allows Purdy to fully heal without rushing back.

The timeline makes sense for the Vikings too. All we’re doing is running out the clock with Kirk and hoping for 10-11 wins. I wouldn’t mind taking the chance on Lance for a year. If he ends up being no good, then odds are we will have a high pick in 2024 to take a new QB.

My feeling exactly.

My biggest issue with Lance is that they'd have to make the 5th year option decision after this year, which would be complicated even more if he were to sit behind Cousins for a year.

I used to think that Shanahan was a guy to listen to when he has a thought about a QB, but I'm backing away from that thought a bit. Not because he hasn't had capable QBs, but he seems to go out of his way to get not terribly mobile pocket passers. Kaepernick is out as soon as he arrives, then he wanted Cousins, goes with Garoppalo, Brian Hoyer, CJ Beathard, Nick Mullens, Brock Purdy and now, his most mobile QB, Sam Darnold. Lance sticks out like a sore thumb, why did they trade up for him when he's clearly not what they were going for?

Kirk is a fine QB, but since I was ready to just cut bait with him to start the rebuild, the cost doesn't seem terribly high to me.

The Vikings cut bait on 3rd round pick Mond after just one year, nothing should stop them from using a top pick on a QB next year if that's basically the priced for Lance and he doesn't work out.

Draft week! There is way too much smoke right now on the Vikings taking a QB early. Looking forward to seeing who the QB of the future is on Thursday or Friday.

This is how I envision Kwesi navigating the waters this week…

Try like hell to trade up into the top 10 to lock in a QB of the future.

If the first plan is too expensive to pull off, call San Francisco and get an agreement in place to trade Kirk for Lance + future pick considerations.

If that can’t be done, see who is there at 23 (likely just Hooker left out of the 5 prospects) and debate whether they settle with that or not.

For what it's worth, Peter King has Houston taking Hooker at #12 and Richardson sliding to the Vikings at #23. That would have seemed far fetched a week ago, but the QB opinions at the moment are about as volatile as it gets aside from Young going #1.

Houston does seem way too dysfunctional to draft a 'project' QB though, so that would make sense. I mean, who would you trust to teach him how to play? Or, wait, I guess if they are too dysfunctional, then maybe they don't have the self awareness to know that they shouldn't draft a 'project' QB.

Yeah no one seems to know where the QBs are going to end up. Sounds like the Colts are on the Will Levis or bust bandwagon. The rest is anyone’s best guess. If Richardson slides to 23 that is likely his best outcome to hit his ceiling. If he has to play in the first year, I think that will have a disastrous outcome.

All things being equal, who gets a better return, Rodgers or Cousins?

Rodgers right? Because of his history? Cousins was clearly the better QB last year though and comes with much less baggage and isn't going to be 40-yeras-old this season.

Rodgers sadly is the answer. Cousins isn’t gonna sell more tickets and get them more National TV games like Rodgers will.

That being said, I still think the Jets overpaid big time for Rodgers. They put all of their eggs in one basket and had to do it out of desperation.

If that was the place Rodgers really wanted to go, I don't know why he didn't flex and tell GB to make the deal the Jets wanted or he'd destroy their cap.

Which makes me think, maybe Rodgers wanted to go to SF, which GB would never have agreed to but would have allowed them to put the pressure on the Jets.

I would love to see this play out, but I doubt it will.  Someone will grab Richardson sooner than 23.  Daunte Culpepper 2.0?

Happy draft day! Looking forward to seeing what we do tonight.

Day of prediction… Kwesi keeps close tabs on Anthony Richardson. If he slides to the 16-18 range, we do a small trade up to get him. If the 4 QBs are gone, I’d say we end up trading out of the 1st round.

I'm with you, I could see this being QB or bust in the 1st round. I guess I'd agree with that unless one of my very few favorites are still on the board.

I’d trade up for Richardson and Stroud…

Stick at 23 if Joey Porter Jr, Deonte Banks, or Nolan Smith are there

Trade down any other scenario
