Before the coaches stepped in and provided some common sense to suspend the game, the first suggestion was to have the players take 5 minutes to warm up and keep playing.

I hate the NFL.

No kidding. Can’t believe it took coaches stepping in to provide common sense. I know this is very minor, but ESPN is putting Kolber, Schefter, and Booger in a really bad spot filling time. For the first time possibly ever, I’m agreeing with Booger. Call the game, and figure out something else to put on TV tonight.

Yeah it’s really awkward to see sportscasters try and talk through a scary thing like this. They’d be better off showing Australian rules football with the officials wearing the funny hat like they did back in the day

Frightening situation. Never seen anything like it. Had to receive CPR on the field. Just call the game. There’s no possible way they can expect these guys to keep playing when they just witnessed this.

I'm hoping this isn't the case, but it sort of reminds me of Hank Gathers.  Hope he gets better.

I wonder what bright bulb NFL Suit came up with that 5 minute warmup idea

Potential explanation of what happened to Damar on the field tonight.

Kind of wild considering how incredibly rare that condition is. And probably even more rare in football since you have pads. Only time I ever heard about something like that was a baseball or hockey puck to the bare chest. Might have to wait until we hear from people who were there. I believe diagnosis without examining someone is verboten in the medical community

Yeah. It's like, "This guy almost died and is in critical condition, but........ you have 5 minutes"

In the end, it was up to the coaches, not the NFL. And thankfully not Skip Bayless.

uff-da. Obviously, Damar Hamlin is the more important story but the Vikings o-line is really going to have trouble in the playoffs. SF must be salivating at the thought of playing us.

So are the giants, judging by the banter I’ve seen online

The D is 31st in points allowed and the OL is decimated. If they play Cousins, or JJ or Cook in Chicago they should just quit, because it would be very bad if one of them got hurt. Hell, bench Darrisaw too. I guess PP and, um, Harry and Danielle on D?

Eh, this ain’t decimated, ask the Rams or Titans what a decimated OL is, they’re both down at least 5 guys.

Udoh played pretty well at RT, and it is his natural position - he won’t be close to as good as O’Neill, but could be acceptable. Mancz is probably better than Schlottmann and Reed, but Bradbury should be back.

I don't like the Rams or Titans odds in the playoffs either.

Justin Fields is out for the Bears with a hip injury. Nathan Peterman is starting.

I’d play the offense for the first 3-4 series, then play all backups the rest of the way. Might even sit Jefferson the whole game.

No way I put Kirk out there. Or JJ.

Only 20 sacks for the Bears all season. Think they get to 30 by the end of the year?

You'd be surprised how bad the Bears' defensive front is. The Bills literally ran for 250 yards against them.

I’m not concerned about Kirk getting hurt at all. And we still have to win the game…

Only if you think the 49ers are going to lose to the Cardinals.

We’re not going to know that until after our game is over. You would prefer taking the loser mentality and hand them the #2 seed without a challenge?

Home field advantage.

Meaningless if you lose game 1. To each their own. I want no more injuries, that's way more important than a hypothetical HMA in round 2. They are just as capable at home as on the road, imo.
