Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 Raiders always let you down. Doesn’t matter who we play round one. Won’t win a road game in round two

Your posts read like this team is awful. They aren't. The point is to win the Super Bowl, not win one game and get cooked in round two. At this point, I would be concerned about beating ANY of the possible first round opponents, New York included. The defense is what it is, the offensive line is in tatters (and it wasn’t good to begin with). We can’t run the ball worth a lick and these outdoor games in January especially on grass make it very difficult to execute a passing game. The receivers were on ice skates today. I’d much rather have a home game in round 2 as the 2 seed and maybe someone can knock off philly, giving us another home game of it were to go that far. That’s the only way we have a shot. They had an opportunity to essentially wrap up that 2 seed today and instead played almost as badly as they did against Dallas. I simply cannot comprehend being satisfied with losing in the playoffs. It’s a wild mindset.

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2023 Author Posted January 2, 2023 My confidence level in the Vikings has been drastically reduced. We knew OL depth was a major issue heading into the season. Now if Bradbury’s back injury keeps lingering, we’re forced to play Chris Reed who has never played center until yesterday. Looks like O’Niell either tore his ACL or his achilles yesterday too.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 I was wrong, I thought our letdown was coming against the Giants, turned out it was the Packers. Why can't this team ever lose a one possession game? Some other notes: Slipping around on the grass was a big reason why the 1st half was so uncompetitive... how did they screw this up? They know playing in Lambeau is like this! Schlottmann's leg is broken, so he's done. O'Neill probably won't be able to play until the Championship/Super Bowl, so the OL will have to be Darrisaw-Cleveland-Reed-Ingram-Udoh until Bradbury is ready. Garrett should be ready by the first playoff game.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 Another reason to rest JJ and others this coming week.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 If Darrisaw misses next year, this team is in big trouble.

Inexcusable that a team wouldn’t have the appropriate cleats to play on grass in January in Green Bay. They were on ice skates, which almost certainly led to the drops. I don’t get that. We had long cleats in high school.

Big difference between playing the Packers at Lambeau than the Giants at home

There’s no possible way they can expect these guys to keep playing when they just witnessed this.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 If they play, I may not watch the rest of the year.

The teams would refuse

If it were baseball the stadium would already be empty. NFL is different schedule wise. The league would probably be ok with it being a no contest considering that it’s one week away from the end of the season. Laughable that they were going to give them 5 minutes to get loose and restart

Before the coaches stepped in and provided some common sense to suspend the game, the first suggestion was to have the players take 5 minutes to warm up and keep playing.

People were also upset that it’s taking so long to postpone this game. if this were an MLB game, it would have already been postponed (although it finally appears to be PPD judging by the staff removing sideline gear). As unimportant as it is in the scheme of life, the NFL probably is trying to figure out how to proceed from here considering the teams playing and the time of season.

I know this is very minor, but ESPN is putting Kolber, Schefter, and Booger in a really bad spot filling time. For the first time possibly ever, I’m agreeing with Booger. Call the game, and figure out something else to put on TV tonight.
