Despise the contact play. Never understood just running into an out

Doesn't make any sense. Thankfully Polanco bailed them out there.

Pretty standard strategy though. I get it. If it's not right at someone, it works.

Was the infield playing in? If it’s not hit right at someone playing in then you’re probably scoring anyway

The infield was WAY in.

So like I said, odds are you’re scoring unless it’s hit literally right at someone. I’d alway rather that man at third rather than first.

Well, no. The idea is with the infield in, if an infielder has to move at all, right or left, or in, the runner has time to score. Doesn't always work. Neither does hoping for a two out hit if you don't try to score.

Gordon looked distracted from the start. First by the leaping runner, then he looked to third (why?), then sped up the throw to first.

I think I’ve seen it work maybe twice in the last few years. And that’s being generous

Unlike Megill, I am not intrigued by Cotton. At all.

Hikers and backpackers in the backcountry know this mantra well: Cotton Kills.

Cotton is done if he puts another Rayon.

Well, it's pretty standard. Whether it's the right call is certainly debatable.

On my team, we run the contact play.
