Rotoballer: Dylan Bundy Undervalued?

Eric Samulski was looking for late-round fantasy draft pitchers, and found Dylan Bundy. As he looked, he kept looking deeper and found several reasons that maybe Twins fans can hope on in 2022...

Lot's of interesting articles on Ober, Ryan and now Bundy giving us hope they can get better or rebound.  2021 seemed to affect our pitchers more than most. I hope we get lot's of good luck this coming year.

Thanks Seth, a very interesting article. I think that fact that the 2021 season was a full season and 2020 as short would considerably effects his pitching as the season wanes on. But I'm optimistic that they are able to straighten things out if they have a long enough spring training.

At this point he can only get better. Of course, I remember J.A. Happ and Matt Shoemaker.

I have a feeling the FO saw similar things and felt he was worth a shot.  Sometimes guys just have an off year and make adjustments to bounce back.  I hope the Twins can unlock something from him, and at very least if needed flip him at deadline for some value if we are not competing.

I know there are some reasons for optimism in Eric Samulski's article about Bundy, but there are also some reasons to worry. I wonder if Josh Donaldson might have some insight into whether any of Bundy's lack of success after June 2021, had a relationship to MLB cracking down on pitchers using sticky substances?  Hmmm.

Maybe as a fantasy player. But as someone that is being looked at as a top of the rotation starter for our favorite club, I would say they are expecting way too much from him.

On the flip side Sano's season turned around after the MLB crackdown on pitchers using sticky substances which lead me to hope on him this year.

I would be happy with Bundy if we got a 4.00 era and anything over 5 innings on average per start with around 30 starts.

I don't think the Twins undervalue him - he was our big free agent pitcher signing!

I view Bundy as an unknown. We'll watch him in Spring Training (If there is one) and see how he performs and see how the coaches treat him, and then see how he throws once the season starts.  I guess this is a long way of saying we will wait and see.
