Twins show patience

The off season is going much faster than last year, but don't worry the FO shows patience.  Snydergaard signs with the Angels, Rodriguez signs with the Tigers, Verlander signs with the Astros, Graveman signs with White Sox - but don't worry.  We waited out Berrios and he is now a Blue Jay for a contract we should have offered, but didn't because the team is patient.  

The Rays sign Wander Franco to a long contract keeping their home grown star, but we are being patient with Buxton, our home grown star and will wish him well wherever he goes.

The Giants keep DeSclafani and sign Loup.  But be patient.

The Dodgers sign Heaney - but don't worry, there are more where he came from - isn't there?

As reported in the comments below Matz signed with the Cardinals. 14-7 record,  3.82 ERA, 29 starts.  Not interested - let's wait.

And we did sign Jake Cave.

Isn't it fun to be patient?

Patience......like getting scissor kicked in the cajones.  Saying that, I will try to remain optimistic.  That feeling will end if Cave is on the opening day roster as 'that decision' sure appears to signal the same theme this front office has exercised for too many years.

Matz signed with the Cards for 4/44 with the possibility to earn 48. Seems like the twins could have done that.

This team doesn't even have a SS yet and Sano is still fielding over at 1B. They don't need to lock a sinkerballer up for four years.

So locking up a good pitcher for 4 years at a reasonable price (barely more than they paid for Pineda the last few years) is a bad idea because they don't have a SS right now?

By the time the savior is up he would still have two years left on the contract and either be a back end starting pitcher (because the pitching prospects will be up) or a wipe out relief pitcher, still relatively cheap.

Steven Matz has never been a good pitcher more than 1 year in a row.
