sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 It's Friday... and i feel this is about all i need to say: For those of you who, like me, are still bummed to see Berrios go, a friend pointed out that he drew comps to Pedro Marinez because he was slight of build, not you imposing presence on the mound, and suggested i should try to look at the bigger pitcher. Well, no better time to do that, than today with Ober on the mound, which adds like, 6 inches. Twins: 0. Bailey Ober (R) P 1. Max Kepler (L) RF 2. Brent Rooker (R) LF 3. Jorge Polanco (S) DH 4. Josh Donaldson (R) 3B 5. Luis Arraez (L) 2B 6. Mitch Garver (R) C 7. Miguel Sano (R) 1B 8. Rob Refsnyder (R) CF 9. A. Simmons (R) SS Astros 0. Zack Greinke (R) P 1. Jose Altuve (R) 2B 2. M. Brantley (L) DH 3. Yordan Alvarez (L) LF 4. Carlos Correa (R) SS 5. Kyle Tucker (L) RF 6. Aledmys Diaz (R) 3B 7. Chas McCormick (R) CF 8. Taylor Jones (R) 1B 9. M. Maldonado (R) C And maybe this time we can pay Zach back for all that time makin' us look bad as a Royal...

Steve71 Verified Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Sheesh, Alvarez looks a monster. He looks like he is playing Little League in that bandbox of a stadium. Good job holding him to a single....
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 92 mph first pitch meat. Twins pitchers make that a habit. Home run for a .175 eight hole hitter on the first pitch after a double. A look into the future? Both teams play in the same stadium. I hope the Twins want to play in the band.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 7, 2021 Author Posted August 7, 2021 Oh well. 2-0. We been in more dire spots. We can do it!
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Dick and Roy are going on praising Ober for his strike-throwing and delivery, but haven't seemed to mention that he's given up 6 hits to just 10 outs so far.

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Sano is so easy to strike out. Never changes.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Kepler's on 1st with a strike out

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Is there an unwritten rule somewhere that says any decent player from a minnesota sports team must constantly get injured?
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 I love Arraez as a hitter, but he just has zero durability and it's not going to improve as he gets older. I legitimately think that DH will be in his future at some point... and it will help that there will be 15 more DHs at some point.

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 9 minutes ago, Aggies7 said: Thought you were talking about byron Well, I could, though he'd lose a ton of value not playing in the outfield. Arraez, conversely, doesn't bring a whole lot of value in the field. 2 minutes ago, stringer bell said: What happened to Arraez? He injured something amidst a swing, and evidently it was something he hurt earlier in the game but was toughing it out. I haven't been watching closely.
