Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 At one point, the 2003 tigers were 80 games below .500 it can get a lot worse I guess

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 Literally just had to put the ball in play, anywhere, and he would have driven in a run. And had two meatballs to do it with, awful
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 And Sano strikes out! Who would've ever predicted that?
AceWrigley Verified Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 I'm disappointed we found out a game or 2 ago that negative exit velocity is not a thing. Too bad cuz it would aptly describe the Twin's season so far this year.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 Thank god we extended the guy who strikes out nearly 50% of his at bats. Genius
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 Gotta love how the only good contact after Kepler's hit was Arraez's AB, but of course there were 2 outs. We keep getting killed by having awful ABs from the black holes in our lineups once we get runners on.
AceWrigley Verified Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 Again, Rortvedt says, "I could have done that."

Don’t insult the intelligence of those of us who’ve watched most of the games Yeah, their Sports Announcing 101 training tells them to keep it positive and hopeful. But at some point it just starts to feel like your mom trying to convince kindergarten you that it's really your goldfish in the bowl and not a new one from the pet store, even though this one is an inch shorter.

Genius To be fair, they only locked in his arbitration years and didn't actually extend him past his FA window except for an option... and he had just hit .923 OPS with a 36% K rate in 2019. I really can't fault them for this, but hopefully they'll know when to cut bait.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 Moreland fought the Law and he won!

operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 Let's bring back Ricky Nolasco & Phil Hughes!
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 I hope Falvine's reading this game thread!
tony&rodney Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 Player acquisitions were discussed ad infinatum in the offseason. The Twins went with a Simmons, Cruz, Happ, and Shoemaker. Many of us called to load up the bullpen but many others believed the additions made were the correct choices. The season plays out to shine a light on a strength or expose weaknesses.

AceWrigley Verified Member Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 At least the suspense of who will win the season series between these teams will be over. Whew,

Nothing that drastic; just sitting by himself in the cheap seats, finishing off his "blowout flask" and staring glassy-eyed at the field...
