ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 So ... the game is 46% over (if the A's don't bat in the ninth, which, yawn, it appears they won't)! Very high schooly.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 I ask again...I know Rocco doesn't make anyone take BP. Do they take infield before every game?Because the infield play is too sloppy to explain. Asking healthy 20/30 somethings to stand on their feet and occasionally move side to side for 10 to 15 minutes is far too much physical exertion. Gotta save the energy for the game.

Can't let Shoemaker get complacent.

Dave The Dastardly Verified Member Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Polanco - at least he hit the ball. Might be hard for Sano to duplicate
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Tortuga messing up a groundball is not surprising, Sano failing to pick up a baseball and at least getting one out is inexcusable. Ugh.
shimrod Verified Member Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 "Wouldn't you rather have aces pitch in 9 inning games?" That's a yes, provided the manager allows them to pitch more than five innings. On this team it's a moot point. Considering the state of the bullpen we're more likely to get a win if the ace starts a 7 inning game. Less exposure of the bullpen.
Dave The Dastardly Verified Member Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Aaand he goes down swinging! But his AB's are improving. One of these days, Alice!!!
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 20, 2021 Author Posted April 20, 2021 Welp. Someone let me know when game 2 starts
Dave The Dastardly Verified Member Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 I guess you don't want to pitch Moreland down and in.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 That wasn't a terrible pitch. Dude just hit it.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 I guess you don't want to pitch Moreland down and in.He has no objection to it.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 What's Rocco doing here? Dude has 60 pitches. One guy has gotten to him...
Dave The Dastardly Verified Member Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Elvis has left the building! Well, maybe he only moved to the Conservatory.

FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 I can see why Minnesota wouldn't find success at Oakland. The fans actually hammer players. They're into the game. Cheering on their team. With less fans in the crowd, you can actually be heard. I bet Shoemaker is hearing things that would make his mother cringe.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 20, 2021 Author Posted April 20, 2021 I can't believe I'm asking for this but...can we put Lewis Thorpe in?

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 That will teach 'em to steal on ya. Walk the next batter.
Dave The Dastardly Verified Member Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 The Shoe get the boot. He might have been up around 70 pitches. Get some ice on that arm!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 But Alice doesn't live here anymore. Check her restaurant...
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 20, 2021 Author Posted April 20, 2021 Man, either we are super slow to the plate or the A's have zero respect to Garver. I'm not sure Garver has has a chance to throw any of the SB attempts out yet
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Glad to see Alcala getting this pressure situation.

ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Garver's career caught stealing rate is now 19.5%. The league average is 27%. That is ridiculous. (Yes, yes, it's not all the catcher, but...)
