If Gladden is going to go on and on about Garlick = Knoblauch on the air, he should pronounce it as Kepler would, with the K pronounced rather than silent.

well, darn it ... I took something out to the mailbox and missed the home run.

well darn it... I had to dash out to the shop and dab some paint on a window frame I've been repairing and missed the home run

I don't understand the logic of Polanco hitting leadoff, why not let Simmons or Arraez hitting leadoff instead? Polanco should hit 9th in the order.

Depends on the opposing starting pitcher.

For the record, I was gardening.... I planted my butt right here on the chair as I did some work on the computer and listened to the home run.

But against lefties, Arraez doesn't hit well enough to bat leadoff. How about Buxton. Ricky Henderson did okay batting leadoff. Otherwise, there doesn't seem to be a right-handed alternative on this team, as far as I can see.

He has a .318 career on base percentage. HIs rocket is s earthbound, I believe.

And an 91 career OPS+.

 

He's just fine where he is. Having a very nice start to the season.

Against lefties, Simmons and Garlick should bat 1st and 2nd. Against righties, Arraez and Simmons should bat 1st and 2nd. Buxton should bat behind Cruz.
