I looked and didn’t see this on Twinsdaily. Like a great baseball writer before him (Reusse), LaVelle E Neal III is being promoted from beat writer for the Twins to columnist. Best wishes.

Love Neal III's coverage, especially of the Twins.  He does a great job on KFAN with Dan Barreiro.

Never mind, beat writers (at least here) don't do that anymore.

 

Good for LEN3, though. He's a good writer and very knowledgeable. Just wish the beat writers in this town weren't serving as extended PR people for the teams.

I wonder if his style will change. I've always liked Neal, but he's never been terribly critical of the team. Columnists tend to take off the mitts when the team is struggling.
