Hope Sano is taking notes on Cruz - that guy is textbook, takes what the pitchers give him and just drives in runs non-stop.

If they go to electronic balls and strikes I think they would have to make home plate at least 2 inches wider. Hitters would have a big advantage otherwise

Gahhhh!!!

Sorry, that's the best written version I can manage for the sound that happens when I watch any Twin strike out with the bases loaded.

There are just a couple more exclamation points when it's Sano.

We're still in the 2nd inning? Good lord.

60 pitches for PIT's Musgrave, and that's with the Twins letting him off the hook couple of times.  He's not looking good for the 210 pitch CG either way.

I'm not 100% on the rules, so someone correct me, but isn't it supposed to be between your knees and elbows as you stand straight with your arms hanging? Regardless, just standardize it and tell the player "Here's your strike zone. Change your stance all you want, but your strike zone doesn't change."

The official strike zone is the area over home plate from the midpoint between a batter's shoulders and the top of the uniform pants -- when the batter is in his stance and prepared to swing at a pitched ball -- and a point just below the kneecap. In order to get a strike call, part of the ball must cross over part of home plate while in the aforementioned area.

stances change, hitters try new things all the time, so the only way it would work fairly would be to adjust it with every at bat, which I’m sure could be done

That two seamer that Berrios throws could be such a great pitch. He seems to not trust it, as it frequently ends up way off the plate.

Me? I'd wear my uni pants down around my ankles, putting the top of the zone somewhere around my hips.

And he did it on ball four no less, after fouling off a fastball right down broadway.

Dick has a completely different (oblivious?) view of what Musgrove is upset about. The Pirates' announcers (unimpressive, for sure) are annoyed at he** because music is blaring between EVERY PITCH only when the Pirates are pitching. And they're absolutely right.

It cannot be said loud enough or often enough: SOMEBODY get the Twins to STOP with the annoying music between every friggin pitch.

I can barely watch.

Weird, ESPN must have filtered it out of their broadcast.  I barely hear it at all.

Unrelated, but it seems like ESPN's announcers have absolutely no interest in actually calling the game, and instead have been talking about random players from around the league.

So is closed captioning if you like the announcers.

The Pirates' guys are saying Musgrove should walk off the mound and refuse to pitch. I would suggest Shelton step in and stop the music. "Stop the music!" It's a new movement.

its What they’ve always done at every game, forever. I think the empty stadium makes it more annoying than usual
